Lord, people never cease to amaze me. How rude! If it’s women asking, you should try giving them a very surprised look and replying ‘Gosh, no! Are you?!’ while staring at their midsection.

*like*

What if you just start crying and say you can’t have children, and how dare they rub it in?

Wait until you’ve been married for two years and they start asking when you’re going to have kids. I keep hearing this more and more as we approach two years! Apparently, we’re behind “schedule” because we’re not pregnant or have a baby right now.

People are ridiculous. I had the opposite: I was pregnant and people asked when we were going to get married (like an above poster). Wasn’t engaged and we still aren’t married 4+ years later!

@Mrs. Puffin:

I’ve actually done that. It shuts people up fast.

Recently I’ve started saying I’m getting married because my step sister is pregnant. When people ask why I just say “Well since she is pregnant I feel I should do the right thing by her and get married.” it confuses people enough to leave me alone.

@misssydneyj: Are you mentally crossing the rude people off the invite list that are asking this question???? I have been crossing people off for rude remarks or things and people asking the pregger  question would clear off a ton of people i’m sure

Well, that should make trimming the guest list easy.

@esordera:

lol, nice.

I would reverse the question, “No, I am not pregnant, are you?” Even if it is a male asking you if you’re pregnant 🙂

UGHHHHH people are so rude! I gave up drinking for a few months last year, just cause. And literally every person who found out asked if I was pregnant. No, actually, I just don’t want to be an alcoholic! Sorry people are so obnoxious, just don’t punch anyone (unless they REALLY deserve it)

How about, “No?! (confused look) (pause) Oh, is that why you got married? (pity look and touch their arm)”

Wow, some people are so rude and have no tact. I would be so offended if someone asked me that :/

Especially since your wedding is over 9 months away lol

At least they were nice enough to ask. lol.

Last October I went to a friends surprise birthday party. My Fiance and I were recently engaged and we had a lot of friends there that we see a couple times a year but not really on a regular basis. So naturally they were all congratulating us about our engagement but a lot of them were dropping “hints” about the future which was getting kind of strange. One person petted my stomach, another person said to my Fiance “oh, you’ll know when you have kids”, etc. There were a lot of things that individually I wouldn’t think twice about but collectively they were starting to add up to something. Finally, on my 3rd drink of vodka and cranberry juice someone asked me when I was due!!! I didn’t even know how to respond, I’m sitting here drinking booze and apparently the entire room thinks I’m pregnant! I told them I wasn’t pregnant and of course they were embarrassed and then it all started spilling out. This person told that person and that person heard it from another person and someone’s wife said they saw it on Facebook. I was in complete shock and I guess the fact that my Fiance and I were FINALLY getting married after 8 years of dating and I had recently gained a COUPLE pounds just reaffirmed their thoughts, therefore I MUST be pregnant! It was by far the strangest situation that I’ve EVER been placed in.

I went on a diet shortly after and lost 15 lbs. I’m now a size 4 and I vow that no one will ever mistake me for being pregnant again.
