That’s a really hard one. We’re just back from a trip to South-East Asia (honeymoon) and there is a part of me which would love to live in Thailand or Singapore. The food and the people in Thailand are just plain amazing. Singapore is almost like “Asia-Lite”, as there is so much of a legacy from the British Empire that there are aspects of the city that it feels as much like Edinburgh (albeit with much better weather and no neds) as it does like Bangkok.

Alternatively, we’d both love to buy a house just outside Milan (again for food and sunshine).

I’d be very happy to live in Wellington, New Zealand and we have seriously looked into the possibility of emigrating (as DH’s profession is on a list of desired careers for the country and I have a lot of friends there).

Honestly, if money were no object, we’d probably just have about 12 different houses around the world and travel constantly.

@SpecialSundae:  I’m moving to Singapore in 6 weeks 🙂

I’ve always wanted to live in Asia but I’m sure after a few years I’ll have a new favourite place, I love to travel an move around.

@Mz Izzie:  Have you been to France before? Where would you like to live? My uncle and aunt live in Haute Vienne on their sheep farm, but I love Paris too.

My Fiance and I wold love to move to the Caribbean someday. So far the virgin islands are our favorite.  He also raves about Rota Spain, but I’ve never been there 🙁

There are so many places I’ve traveled and really loved, but for the ease of being able to see family fast, I would pick Puerto Rico. However, if the family issue wasn’t a real concern I would pick Japan.

I’ve lived a lot of places, and there are many I’d love to go back to, same with Fiance.

@SpecialSundae:  said, we would love to be able to own everywhere and rotate through. Although the truth is, that we may not own…. but we certainly will live many places;  both of our careers are either portable or flexible with time off; and my carrer is actually better if I split the year between hemispheres.

It would have to be somewhere along the Normandy coast – perhaps Honfleur or Rouen!  I absolutely love every single thing about France and think Paris is one of the greatest cities in the world, but in terms of a place to live, it would have to be Normandy.

Runner up would be London – lived there before and would happily move back in a second!  Actually, I would probably look more in Surrey or Sussex as they both are within easy commuting distance of London but have lots of gorgeous little country English towns that I love!

@Ree723:  I completely agree! I lived in London during college, and it was such a wonderful experience. I’d probably like to live somewhere within commuter distance to London; there are so many beautiful places in England surrounding London.

Fiance and I will be moving to Wales (probably Cardiff) after our wedding in 2013. He’s a UK citizen and we’ve both been looking for work in either Wales, Ireland, or non-London England.
