My Fiance and I are thinking of creating our own wedding rings. We would carve wax models, have them cast by a custom casting service (there are many of those) and finish them ourselves. I’ve made metal jewelry before and he is a skilled miniature sculptor, so I think between us we have the skills to do this, with the help of a good metal-casting company.
Anyway, I have a question for you all. If you and your Fiance were doing this, who would make whose ring? Would you each make your own, or would you make his ring and vice versa? We’re thinking we should make each other’s rings, not our own, but my ring is going to be more fun to carve so I kind of want to do it. . . but I think it’s better, sentimentally, to make one another’s.
