do you wear your wedding ring before you are married?! Our jeweler suggested that I have my rings soldered together before the wedding so they won’t slide around, but it seems weird to me to wear the wedding band before we are actually married! I guess I could wait until after we get back from the honeymoon to have it done, but then they’ll probably drive me nuts that week turning independently (my band is a half eternity that will have a slight cathedral shape to match my e-ring). Thoughts?

I had mine soldered like two weeks before the wedding. I just didn’t wear either ring during those two weeks, until the wedding.

I had mine soldered after the wedding. Maybe you could send it away while you are on the honeymoon so you don’t have to worry about having a diamond in the ocean or anything.

I’m going to get mine done a week or so before… I just won’t wear it a few days before the wedding. I’d rather do that than risk it and having it twisting around.

I’m also having mine done before….I have to send my wedding band in anyway to be resized so rather than sending it in and then having to send it in again, I will just have it done all at once. Plus, with my jeweler, when you send in your ring for any reason they will re-dip it in the white gold, and I want it to look spectacular for our wedding day:) I’m also not wearing mine until the wedding after I send it in.

I think it makes sense to have it done before the wedding! While it will be tough to not where it for the week before the wedding, I’d rather not have to rush before the honeymoon or leave it with the jeweler.

@marcam: Unfortunately, at most places you are going to have to leave it with a jeweler for a few days. I don’t think a lot of big chain stores have the ability to solder rings on site.
