- Wedding: August 2018 - Oakland Manor
The package we went for was (honestly) the entry level package. It included 8 hours of coverage but only at one location. The more I think about it the more I wish we could do more than one location. The ceremony/reception are at the same venue, but I think i’m really going to miss out on the "getting ready" shots with my girls.
We have access to the venue at 5, the ceremony starts at 6:30 so I don’t know if it’s enough time to have a make up artist and hairstylist do their work on site or not. I might see if a college friend (who studied photography) can come to the salon with us so I don’t miss out on those fun pictures with my girls.
what would you add?

Is there anyway maybe for a small fee your photographer will be willing to come to the salon for even a hour? And take that out of your 8 hr? If you are having two maybe ask for just the one or the associate photographer to come seperately and you can pay him/her on the side? Making sure it’s ok with the lead photographer first of course. Or, maybe you can do makeup & hair off site then get dressed at the site and get some "getting ready" shots that way?
If I could add one thing but at the same cost it will be pro album. I would LOVE a pro album but cannot see paying $$$$ for one. But besides that (even though I have not booked yet) I am looking for 2 photographers (1 lead & 1 associate/junior), 6-8 hours, online viewing, digital proof on CD & eshoot for the price I want.

Can I add *professionalism* to my photographer? Who doesn’t return my calls OR emails?….GRRRRR
Every photographer i talked to said for like $100 they’d add an extra venue location!
My package is great, though! 3 photographers, unlimited venues, etc etc. It includes 10 hours of photog time that day, but we don’t show up at the place til 430. It ends at 11pm, so I’m going to have her show up at noon, even though my hair will be done, my makeup won’t. Then back to my place for lunch and whatnot (those will be interesting pics! haha) and then off to the wedding place

I’m kind of annoyed at our photog. It’s a family friend so I had no choice but to chose her. She was way more expensive than others in our area. She offers an albulm, but if i want images or prints of anything else, I’ll pay out the nose for them. I’m going to encourage my family and friends to take tons of pictures and send them to my Shutterfly account so that I have tons of free images. I’m going to put cards at all of the seats with the information, maybe I can push her to give me a better deal.

Will she give you a CD if you advertise like that?

I was really lucky! My photographer had a pretty great package. No time limit or location restrictions, 2 "day of" photographers, engagement session included, coffee table album included, and all rights to use and reprint photos. He even made us cds with our wedding photo on the cover! He was fabulous.
But if I had to add one more thing…it would be a post-wedding Trash The Dress session. I am green with envy over TTD photo shoots!

I know this doesnt count, but I wish my photographer had a videographer in his package! Thats one thing I wish we splurged on to capture more of the day.
Oh well, a family members shakey hand on a cam-corder will have to do! 🙂

I found a breakout photographer who agreed to be at the B&B to do my "before" shots for me for FREE! Maybe that’s an option for you?
I picked "More time" but in reality, I’ll still end up paying for the extra hours. I can’t imagine missing those photo ops! Plus, our package came with unlimited photos, and I can’t imagine having more than 2 shooters!! (Can you say paparazzi?) LOL!
Check craigslist or the WB classifieds for a photog offering free engagement photos and ask if they’ll do your before photos!

I love our photographer and the package is awesome for the price, but I wish we had more than three locations to shoot in because three would be ceremony site, reception site, and the lake where we want to do our formals before hand. I guess we’ll have to arm some people with other cameras so we can do getting ready shots in the morning.
