I am getting a custom ring, and so far, all I know for sure is I want the center stone to be very visible, and I am having a Harry Potter quote engraved inside it (“After all this time? Always.”)
Here is the design I had been settled on for a few weeks (minus all the scrollwork and hand engraving in the second image, I only wanted the center stone setting in that pic)
Then I saw this lovely ring, and started second guessing myself.
Now I am totally confused, so maybe seeing what other Bees would want would give me some more ideas, or help me settle on one.

Really the only reason I don’t like the first picture (as much) is the width of the band at the center stone. I think it takes away from the center stone. Both rings are beautiful and you should go with whatever fits your personality and whichever one you would be most disappointed in NOT wearing for the rest of your life. Tough choice!

I just got my 2ct asscher in so I’m sure I will go gaga for my ring once again! I have an appointment with the jeweler today so that he can set the diamond in to my original ring! Woot Woot!
But here’s the settings I would love to have!

What if I got the original design and had the bezel set sidestones, but no band around them? Know what I mean? It would be like a cross between both rings. The first ring would look more delicate, but still essentially be the same ring.

@bunnyharriet: Ooh I like the idea of that. I’d have to see a picture to know for sure but that sounds like a happy medium!

I had my 20th anniversary upgrade ring custom designed based on a few parts from different rings that I liked. Here it is and I absolutely love it!

My ring was custom made and I went in having absolutely no idea what I wanted. Of course I have seen many rings since that I like but none that I would rather have.
I love the happy medium suggestion, that sounds perfect.
Here is mine:

@bunnyharriet: Your idea sounds awesome. In general though I prefer thicker bands so I like the first one as is.

I would want a yellow gold, heart cut blue sapphire with a white sapphire halo, milgrain edging on a white sapphire micropave splitshank or double band. Yep, that’s the general idea – it’s more simple than it sounds. But things like side stones and emerald cut pave bands have begun to lurk.

I would want this Verragio ring:
And I got it! ;P

My dream set would be:
1ct to 1.5ct center stone, round/brilliant-cut (diamond, as clear and flawless as I can afford)
on either side, two occurrances of three invisible-set princess-cut small sapphires that create a sort of arrow that points away from the center stone. like this: . But, of course they’d be sapphire and the center would be round/brilliant-cut.
All in white-gold.
Yup. That’s my dream ring.
probably won’t happen any time soon (like not in the next 5-10 years, based on living expenses and what not) BUT that’s a goal of mine to eventually get. 😀
