    Tacori all the way.

Google: Tacori engagement ring settings are delicate, hand-tooled, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry created by artisans in California. They feature hand-selected gems of at least a G color and VS clarity in all engagement rings and wedding bands.

KateyGrace:  I just want to give you a heads up regarding the sticker shock of engagement rings. My Fiance just recently purchased my engagement ring from Tiffany’s and it was just over 40k for 1.56ct, their website’s prices are quite misleading. So if you are dead set on the minimum 2ct weight, you are probably going to have to up your budget quite a bit at this particular retailer. With that said I personally preferred the simplicity of Tiffany’s, I went with the Novo, and have nothing but good things to say about my overall experience. And the other retailer I would recommand you checking out is Cartier, they also had some stunning pieces.

Honestly to me, it’s not about the brand name. A quality ring doesn’t always mean it has to be made by Tiffany, Tacori, etc. If anything, that just justifies that company being able to mark up their rings by a crazy X percentage amount. I’m a business/marketing major, I think I have some right to say that! ๐Ÿ˜› A local jeweler that isn’t masked with glitz and glam of a famous brand name could make just as beautiful of a ring with probably even better customer service and attention (granted you pick the right jeweler!) to your needs. To each their own, I suppose. ๐Ÿ™‚

Classic Tiffany 6 prong here and some blingy stack bands. I liked that ring when I was 20 and I know I’ll still like it when I’m 60.

Leon Mege. But as far as “off the rack” rings go? I’d go Cartier over TIffany any day.

For my ring, we’re likely to go with something custom from David Klass (I adore his work, and I want to use moissanite for the stone, which I know he will work with) but I get positively swoony over Erika Winters’ designs.

Peruse her collection, look through her blog. I don’t want pave in my ring, so some of her settings in their current format (she does custom versions!) are a little too busy for me, but damn does her aesthetic speak to me. And she has me panting over french cut diamonds like whoa.

Second those saying Victor Canera, Leon Mege and Harry Winston (if you like emerald cuts look at the HW classic EC with baguettes – drool!!).  Of the choices you’d listed I would go Tiffany – I think Tacori designs are generally too busy as well (with the exception of one or two of their designs).

Diamonds by Lauren is another site you should check out – they do custom jewellery but also have complete rings for sale if you’re not interested in the custom route.  Your budget is generous so you can definitely have a 2 carat diamond for that ๐Ÿ™‚

Out of all those brands, if I had to choose, if go with Tiffany or Tacori. Definitely not Neil Lane. When it comes down to it, I would rather avoid a brand name and get the best possible diamond for the best possible price.

I just chevked out Lauren B Jewelry on instagram and was underwhelmed. Pretty, but very run of the mill stuff, pavè everywhere.

And btw, I keep my eyes open, ask sales reps to write an iitem # or specs on the back of their card, and hand those cards to the hubs. That way, he can “surprise” me with something that he’ll know I like and that he doesn’t really have to try too hard to obtain.

I’d choose a Tacori, but not for the brand name – I’d choose it because I think they’re lovely! Though I definitely don’t fault any Bees who think they’re too busy. ๐Ÿ˜‰
