I wouldn’t worry about the brand. I would go to a jewelry store with a large selection of rings to get an idea of what style you like. The ring style has very little to do with the brand.

For a 35k budget, you will not be able to get a 2 ct premium branded ring (Tiffany, Cartier, HW). I don’t know much about Tacori or Neil Lane, though. That being said, a Tiffany, Cartier, HW ring will give you a lifetime of wonderful customer service, so it very well may be worth going smaller and upgrading later, if size is that important. It’s much easier to upgrade at a trusted retailer, from what I’ve heard.

KateyGrace:  I’m happy to hear you found a designer you think you like! I’ll have to look him up out of curiosity (:

But if you want to browse some more, I looove my setting by Artcarved. I feel that they have a lot of really beautiful, interesting, and unique settings, for a wide range of tastes.

I would go through Brilliant Earth. I love their leaf designs and sustainable/ethical policy.

ETA – also glad to hear you found a designer you like!

Check out Victor canera, he hand forges settings. His designs are breath taking, however, expensive because it’s made by hand not cast.

How generous! #1 I would find thee most well cut stone for fire. The stone will outlast current fads and eventually you’ll be getting it remounted into an updated ring. That being said, currently I would not hesitate to choose a platinum KIRK KARA.  Intricate, ornate, facinating works of art.

Lol, where’s jcent and her unbelievable ring when you need her?

A budget like that can get you something unbelievable OP, I would be walking the road less travelled for sure! Check out this thread and the youtube links posted http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-antique-cushion-diamond-reset/ it’s not mine and not even necessarily my ‘ideal’, but it is standout gorgeous and very fancy (even without a halo)
