I currently live in Somerville, MA.  About a mile from downtown Boston.  I would love to move back to Northampton, MA or up to Central VT (Montpelier area).  City living has been good, but I am ready to move back to the country.  Too bad Somerville doesnt have a deserted 5 acre farm up for grabs ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m in Texas, and I think I would like to move to Colorado or Hawaii.

I live in SF and I adore the city… but if I won the lottery or something, I’d probably move back to Tokyo.

St. Thomas, V.I.  I’ve already told my husband we’re moving here as soon as possible. He’ll never leave Central Fl while he’s working and we have young kids (future), but I keep telling him if life gets overwhelming here and he turns into the crazy workaholic his father is, we’re outta here! We at least plan on retiring here.

I totally agree on Chicago!

On a realistic day to day still have to work and raise a kid level, I think Fiance and I would love Chicago.

We visited last year and I love that it’s NYC but with a slight slower pace.

If it wasn’t so far from family we would do it in a heartbeat!

NYC! I lived there for two years when I was in grad school and I miss it terribly. My now-husband hates it though, so I don’t think that will ever happen ๐Ÿ™

Hm.. we live in Cleveland, not far from the lake.  And we have talked about this on SO many occasions.  We like seasons, don’t like it too humid, but don’t love the amount of snow we get.  I think we said Maryland, Virginia, or snow be darned we would do upstate NY.  but all of those places are sooo much more expensive.

I get torn between city living and country living.  I grew up on a farm & I love the thought of living in a small town (aka gilmore girls).. but on the other hand, I love being close to the city too.  I lived downtown for 3 years and loved it..

@ MelissaBegins: I know you’re in FL, too, so I’m surprised if you don’t have any friends or family who have/had lived on the islands before. It seems everyone has some sort of attachment to a Caribbean island around here!

I know 2 couples in St.Thomas now and 4 families who live in the Bahamas for 3-4 months out of the year. I have multiple friends who have lived off-and-on in the Caymans and the Virgin Islands, so it’s just kind of common around here. Actually, the new thing is to move to Costa Rica, but we’ve been and don’t like it as much as St. Thomas. We just don’t have that same feeling about it as we do for the V.I.’s.

What about moving to an island makes you worried? Basically, we just know (and plan) that if/when we make the move, we will be making a complete change of lifestyle.

And I noticed you didn’t want to move to Central FL? Is that because it sucks so bad (because it does!)? ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, since the boy refuses to move, ever this is just a fantasy I guess. But, I would love to live in Paris. I love the city, and the people and it’s just nice. I also love Seattle.

Austin is so great though, I really have no interest in moving moving, maybe just staying somewhere else for a while.

i love where i am near SF..I think I’d like to live in Hawaii for a while, but I might miss the hustle-and-bustle of metropolis life too much to make it permanent.
