I’m watching the UK version of “International Househunters” and I would LOVE to have a home or retire in another country. Not sure what country as I’ve been to many beautiful ones. The emphasis on the show always seems to be Spain…which would NOT bother me at all! But there are others too…
So if money wasn’t an issue during retirement, what country would you choose and why?

South coast of Turkey. Plenty of history and culture, plus great food and beautiful landscape. An alternative would be Cyprus.

Cuzco, Peru….love the mountains and clear air

I would retire to an insland in the Caribbean, probably St. Maarten. A close second would be the Seychelles, but I wouldn’t want to be so far away from my family. New Zealand might be on the list too, as well as Ghana or Togo in West Africa. I’m all over the place!

Forget retire…I want to live in New Zealand full time, now :-)!

Probably Italy, though I’ve never been there. Darling Husband and I love the Mediterranean diet, it has so much beautiful coastline, there’s a good balance of slow country with busy city, the history and culture are rich, and I can’t imagine ever being bored. We’d struggle with the language, though!

Every time we travel to a new country we fall in love (for the most part.) So we have changed our minds so much on this. We used to say Santorini, but now we say Ireland. I’m sure it will be somewhere else by the end of the year. 🙂

South of France. That way I could visit Spain regularly. OMG I WANT IT.

I am not an adventurous traveler. I like the comforts of home. I’d do Hawaii though!

The Netherlands. We just visited there on our trip and fell in love. There were a few serious conversations on logistics of moving there now! :p

I’m super boring and wouldn’t want to move too far away from family and friends. I also wouldn’t want to have to figure out another country’s system when it comes to specialists. My health also limits where I can safely go. Maybe I’d go to BC, it’s not too far from everyone and the climate is a little less extreme.
