happy_face:  Right?   At that point, the “surprise” element is well out the window.

I did pick out my ring but didn’t get it for a few months after he picked it up. I knew it was in our fire safe and I peeked more than I care to admit. I tried it on a few times too…

I am not a patient person. πŸ˜“

Ummm…no. I found it and looked. No regrets. I have no shame!

He hasn’t given it to you yet? That’s so odd. Are you still in the return window?

I wouldn’t peek. Yes, I’ve picked it out and have pictures of the digital mockup and a couple reference pics of other people wearing that model, but I don’t want a picture of MY ring until it’s on my finger. If I ever found it I would immediately tell my SO to go hide it better lol. I still want the surprise of seeing my ring for the first time at the proposal. Would it be hard, yes, but I think it’ll be worth it. Hopefully he won’t make me wait too long once he has it πŸ˜‰

Also, I have a friend who has a ring for his girl and she found it and peeked (tried it on and told him) and it devastated him. Guys really only get to do the proposal if you pick out the ring together beforehand, and he was upset that she took away one of the few elements of surprise he had. Not every guy would be mad, for sure, but do you want to take that risk?

milabeehappy:  Sorry, my first post was me being confused because I genuinely thought you had looked at it.  I apologize, I was wrong about that.  On the second point, yes, well, I think a surprise is a surprise.  If you know he’s going to propose, and you picked out the ring, it doens’t seem surprising in the traditional sense of the word.  If you still feel surprised, then great!  It’s just not what I consider surprising.  And I was agreeing with another poster, it’s not something I brought up.

milabeehappy:  You will be πŸ™‚  Mine was a total surprise and I had it on my finger for like an hour before I even noticed it had pave on the band (which is something you’d think you would notice!!)  I hope the proposal comes soon and it’s all you could wish for.

I know where mine is and it’s killing me not to peak..but he also has it in a lock box locked in the safe…I know the combo to the safe, and I THINK I know where the key to his lock box is.. so it’s been tempting!
