So I was looking through this bag in the living room and there was a “bigger” box-the ring box he ordered separately one day. A few days later, I felt the need to look in the bag again – which is strange because there were no clues that something had changed EXCEPT when I looked into the bag the second time there was a smaller, velvet box at the bottom of the bag! I felt the smaller box but didn’t pull it out.
I picked out my ring and was there when he ordered it. I knew what it looked like and while I hate surprises I knew he would like what little surprise he could pull so I didn’t look in the box. He let me believe that the ring hadn’t come in yet and that he was fighting with the store because something had gone wrong right up until he asked. I didn’t tell him that I found it until after he asked.

autumn_amber: Agreed. My Darling Husband wouldn’t have been mad if I’d found it, he’d probably laugh and then say “well I guess we can make it officail now.” He wasn’t planning an elaborate proposal anyway.

If I found the box while digging around somewhere I’d probably recoil like I burned myself and RUN! I wouldn’t even want to see the outside of the box in case any branding gave away that much

I knew exactly where my ring was hidden and where he was keeping the keys for the lock box. The closest I ever got to peeking at it was just holding the damn lock box in my hands for a few seconds before sighing heavily and putting it back haha.

Well it’s comforting to know others have gone through this too 😊

milabeehappy: I did, we ordered it from James Allen. After weeks of scouring these boards for lower colored diamonds, and watching way too many 360 degree diamond videos on JA, I finally pulled the trigger. Aaaaand now I’ve already convinced myself that we need to exchange it, without having seen it! These are the times I wish he would’ve picked the ring out on his own!

Not only did I peek I wear it around the house (and sometimes out) all the time. He was supposed to hide it but it’s just sitting on his desk. He said he knows I like to look at it so he doesn’t want to hide it. He just laughs at me when I wear it. He said I might as well wear it bc we know we’re getting married. I told him that was NOT a proposal lol

weatherbug: I did all these things lol
Had you asked me before I would have said I would never peek, but once I got to try it on for 10 seconds to see if it fit and knew where it was (he didn’t hide it) i just couldnt resist the temptation, to try it on longer, after a few weeks of it being in the house. I find it silly that he ordered the ring months before he was ready to propose, it just doesn’t make sense to me but oh well! Now I know what it looks like,
