Don’t show up empty handed, bring food — any food — and maybe throw in a small token gift for baby like a onesie.  But I think food alone is fine if you already got them a gift

You already gave gifts and contributed to another gift yet you are worried about going there “empty-handed”?  I need a friend like you, lol.;)

If I know the dietary restrictions of the family, I almost always bring food post birth (and package in individual containers for freezing). And maybe a cute small stuffed toy or a small pack of diapers, depending on how close I am to the family.

Some type of food, snack, etc.  If you know they are already getting lots of food from family, some snacks that will keep longer might be better.  Or already frozen food with directions on reheating.  If she is breastfeeding lactation cookies are great.  One of my close friends I had already given a nice gift so I made a basket with some heating pads (they make some for your boobs), oatmeal, bars, lactation cookies, and a bottle of wine.  For someone I wasn’t as close to, I’d probably just pick something and stay under ~$15 for making it.  You make lots of meals or snack items for under that.

yorkshirerose :  Another vote for food! Bonus points for anything that can be eaten with one hand 😉

Another vote for FOOD! Something she doesn’t have to prepare herself is a great gift.

Def go with something token and personal like food. Usually I turn up with takeaway coffees and muffins lol
