    If you’re in this situation, I think the only responsible way to TTC is to have IVF with PGD provided they have identified the gene associated with the disorder. 

    If the gene cannot be identified, then you would probably be better off adopting or using donor eggs. If I put on my judgey pants, I think in most cases it is unfair to knowingly bring a child into the world that is guaranteed to suffer to a large extent. 

    Most of us don’t know what is lurking in our genes and I don’t know whether that is a good or bad thing. I’m tempted to have myself genetically tested but I am a wee bit scared of the unknown!!
