If you HAD to have a sapphire, which colour would you choose?

Ooh maybe pale pink or peach, or purple, or an icy blue, or teal or maybe mint, the classic royal blue is nice too.

I’m useless here. Gimme all the sapphires.

I’m not sure I could pick just one color. I love sapphires, and I LOVE that there is such a variety of colors for them. Blue is my favorite color, so I hope to do a nice, big blue sapphire ring one day — maybe for a future anniversary. But I love the lighter blue tones, from a cornflower to a periwinkle … or even slightly lighter, depending on the stone.

I wanted to do a purple sapphire for my 20th anniversary ring, but it was a bit out of budget at this time. I love my purple spinel, though, so I don’t feel like I had to compromise that much. If the spinel doesn’t hold up, I may replace it with a purple sapphire one day down the road.

I have two loose sapphires that are on the small side. The round is around 1.3 and the oval is around 1.24 carat equivalent, or something in that area. I love them both.

This one shifts from green to blue. It has an inclusion right in the middle, which normally wouldn’t be ideal. But I happened to love the color and even the way the inclusion looks. And it made this stone a great deal, too. Win!

And this one is my yellow beauty, which I love. It’s like owning a little piece of the sun!

And this is my Montana Sapphire. I feel like it falls into the very light, steely gray-blue area. But it also shifts colors to a more lavender or light purple, depending on the light. This used to be in my favorite RHR, but I felt like it got lost in the setting. So it lives in my house loose now, but I will find the perfect setting for it one day. I love this stone.

For me I would always choose classic royal blue but I do love pads, they’re just so hard to come by! X

If I could pick my own color, I would love a lighter cornflower blue or lighter Montana blue sapphire. Mine’s on the medium/darker side….

Parti-blue/green (if it’s a Montana stone, even better!) sunset pad and periwinkle are my favorite sapphire colors 🙂

I’ve been drooling over the darker green montana sapphires. Maybe a RHR someday!
