My ring was my grandmothers (I didn’t change the setting, just sized it down to fit me). I had no idea what the size or quality was until I has it appraised and insured (so we could afford to purchase a new rind if something ever happened to this one (not that I’m planning on it, but you never know)). The center stone is approx. .4 carat with two small stones on either side. It’s a round stone in a square setting which makes it look bigger than it actually is. I love it. It’s perfect for me.

The center “big” diamond is 1/3 carat – the coolest thing about it is that it was my FMIL’s first diamond before the upgrade.  I have no idea how what the other diamonds add up to…but they are tiny little chips.  I LOVE my ring! I have tiny fingers (5.25) so I’m not sure how good a humungo 2 carat or something would look.

@CorgiTales: Hah thats exactly what I said after I got the ring! Fi said he knew I’d say that, I’m not sure if that helped him in his decision but I do love some fancy eggs lol!

My ring is estimated to be between .45 and .5 carats.  It is an antique ring from the 1930s that consists of a cluster of 7 diamonds in the center and 3 more down each side.  I’m petite (5′ with shoes on) with short size 6 fingers, so I think any bigger would have over-powered my hands.  I’m so in love with it!

Here is my ring! Center stone is a little over 1/3 of a carat. It’s a perfect size for a 22 year old 🙂 Couldn’t be happier!!
