Had some success on POF but it was hard work. Decided to have a break and concentrate on widening my social circle through meet up. Met OH within a few months, started dated a year later and now expecting a baby two years on .

I didn’t meet my SO online, but when I was single, I tried Tinder for a while. Yes, Tinder 😀 It’s pretty much a prejudice that everyone on Tinder is just looking for quick hookups. Many people on there ARE doing that, but many also aren’t. What I liked about Tinder was that it only showed me people that are in my city, and actually I started using it after several of my friends told me that they use it (and who doesn’t want to meet someone who’s like one of your friends? 🙂 ). I had a few dates using Tinder, and of all the men I met there wasn’t even one single man who was just looking for a hookup. All were nice, goodlooking men with good education who were looking for a serious relationship.
The only real disappointment I once had on Tinder: I was talking to a very goodlooking guy for a few days, it turned out we had the same interests, he had a great humor and a good job, and I felt like we really clicked. We started to plan our meeting, and literally in the last second he totally blew it. He said: ‘Looking so much forward to see you! Just one question, when we meet, you’re up for some fun, right’ I said ‘What do you mean?’ (even though I knew what he means, but I couldn’t believe he’d ask me that before even meeting me). He said ‘Well, you know, you and me could have some great fun together. I’m just asking you because I don’t want to waste my time if that’s not what you want’. Needless to say I never answered again.
