That is how I found my ring. I tried so many rings and I never really like any of them until I tried "the one on" it was perfect! I loved it and it is the one I got. But with the dress I didn’t have a much luck. Maybe I just havent found the one yet! Good luck with the dress and the ring!

I had tried on so many beauties and thought I had totally figued it out. And then I saw a picture of a ring that was waaaay different from what I had been looking at, and that was it. I kew I had to have the that ring!!! It looked like it had been ripped right off Zelda Fitzgeralds finger! I was in love! The funny thing was it was the first ring he had really liked in the first place. I totally knew!

We went to two stores. I tried on a few rings at the first store, but none that wowed me. At the second store, the first ring I tried on was it. I tried on a couple more, but I went back to that one. I didn’t need to try on any more, the ring had the vintage look I was going for and it fit our budget! Done and done!

I haven’t tried on any.. I found the one I crave for on a website, it’s absolutely beautiful. Sigh… Surprisingly it’s sooo inexpensive, but I would be sad if I got anything else but it…

We chose a loose emerald cut stone together and had it set as a solitaire.  I waited two weeks for it, during which time I was worried about what it would look like.  When he brought it home, it exceeded my expectations.  I could not believe how beautiful it was.

They say a woman looks at her engagement ring a million times during her life.  I may have looked at it a million times in the last two months.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

We were "browsing" for a loose round cut stone together – I narrowed it down to one in first jewerler, and two stones at the second jewerler.  Was surprised with a ring (and the proposal) the weekend before our third jewerler appointment.  According to him, I chose the setting – maybe I did, maybe I didn’t; I was more focused on the stones since I thought the setting will be decided later!  When it came to the stone, it wasn’t the one that screamed "I am the one!", but it WAS the one that I for no reason liked the best – it wasn’t the biggest, but I kinda felt that it was the "brightest" and spoke to me the most.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Honestly, the setting may or may not have been the "one" I would’ve chosen if we went through the process of selecting a setting.

But the ring I have is THE ONE for me.  Once my Fiance put it on my finger, and as I stare at it a millions times (like the others above) a day, I know I can never part with it ever.

when we were in the malls i would point out single solitare rings to my then boyfriend and tell him that i liked just the plain band with stone, kinda like a classic tiffany ring

when it came time to visit our jeweller we were looking in the window and i was saying "just a plain band with a solitare"  and he pointed out a ring and said what about that and i repeated without really looking at it  ‘plain band, single stone’ and then he physically turned my head to look at a ring and said what about that one and i went "ohhhhhhh"

so i ended up with 14 diamonds in a channel band setting and solitare – and he gets bragging rights in saying he picked my ring out

I have a cute story. Now as far as I’m aware, no ring has been purchased, so I may not even be getting this particular one. However, back in January 2007 I was having a sneaky look in a jeweller’s sales window (on my own) at rings. It’s a habit my mum has taught me from a young age! I took a picture of the ring for future reference and thought little more about it.

3 weeks later I am with bf, his best friend and her new fella. His friend is like a magpie and has always been excited/enthusiastic about us being together. I think she knows we think we’re ‘the one’ for each other. Anywho, all 4 of us were browsing in the window of a branch of the same jewellers, bf pipes up "I like this one" and points. I grab my phone, flick through the pics to the one I’d taken 3 weeks earlier and said ‘oh you mean this one?’ He was floored. So since then that has been The Ring. I’ve still carried on looking anyway and seen lots of others I like but they do tend to follow a similar trend. It’s in his hands now!

I totally knew my ring was "the one" – I’d seen a bunch that I liked just OK, but when we found my ring I just knew. And now that I have it I can’t stop staring and everyone says it is gorgeous and perfect and looks perfect on my finger. It’s the best feeling! I doubt I will be so lucky with my dress ๐Ÿ™

Kittyachi — I know what you mean!  I loved my ring when I first tried it on and it only seems to get better, but after trying on so many dresses, I doubt that I’ll have the same feeling about my dress…

I had gone in search of the Ring and had been talked out of an aquamarine stone by a salesman at Robbins Brothers and then again at Jareds.  Don’t get me wrong, I love diamonds but I’m an encore Fiance and I wanted something different.  After the salesman at Jareds gave me grief about not wanting a diamond I settled and picked something out there.  It was very very pretty but I didn’t oohh and aaawww over it.  Finally I was with the mister and we were looking in a store and had looked at every counter. Finally got to the end of the last counter and there she was!  We both went OOOOO! Can we see that?

We tried it on, applied for the credit, got approved and sat there staring at it.  I finally said lets go eat lunch and think about it.  We went to lunch and afterwards he went back to get the ring!

We both love the ring so much.. oh and btw it is an aquamarine! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yep I knew it was the one. funny, it was nothing like i originally planned… I thought I wanted a plain round solitaire and instead wound up with a emerald cut, vintage halo setting with diamonds on the band! I love it!! I am so glad we shopped around first!

I definitely knew!

My FH and I went looking often and I would try them on and I would like them but it wasn’t until I went to a jewelry store with my mom and she asked what type of ring she thinks he would get me and I saw it and I said probably something like that – and then the sales lady asked if I wanted to try it on – how could I say no – when it slipped onto my finger (perfect size) I had a complete emotional reaction – I knew it was the one!

A few weeks later while with my FH I wanted to show him the ring and so when I was looking for it he said there it is and pointed out the right ring!!!!! I couldn’t believe it – he knew and I didn’t tell him or show him anything about it – It is definitely my ring I am just driving myself crazy waiting for it!
