The ceremony is in a chapel with wooden floors that get damaged from real petals, so they are not allowed. I always loved the ideaaid a flower girl throwing petals, even though I didn’t get to either time I was a flower girl way back when. You are allowed to use fake petals or something along those lines, though they might look cheesy? Everything else will be pretty au naturel so it may be a weird thing to bring in fake petals.
What would you do?

@lazy: Idon’t think anyone will notice if the petals are real or fake. They have better things to be focused on.

I would say use the fake petals, they come in all different colors and I’m sure you can find ones that look fairly real! No one will pay that much attention to the petals being thrown other than you! Don’t stress, it’s not a big deal!

Who’s going to clean up the petals? That’s always my concern. We did this

We had the same restriction, so our flower girls carried rose pomander balls. They were gorgeous!

I was at a wedding where two darling little girls walked down the aisle and handed a flower to each guest sitting on the aisle.

As the bride, I’d be afraid of slipping on fake petals. Personally, I’d have her hold something.

Our flower girl is throwing dried lavender, but the wedding is outside.

@fascinated: This is a great idea.

My daughtef couldn’t throw petals at my sisters wedding in a church. She had a flower wand made by thr florist. It was really cute, glitter came out when she twirled it.

My almost 2y.o. niece couldn’t throw flowers at my brother’s wedding, so they gave her 3 flowers to carry: one to hand to the groom (my brother), one to hand to the best man (my brother), and one to hand to another groomsman (her dad, my brother-in-law). She ran the whole way down the aisle, straight to her dad. It wasn’t exactly as planned, but it was adorable!

Our wedding is outside, and because we don’t want to spend 2373434 hours picking up flower petals, our flower girl will either be handing out favors to everyone on the ends of the aisle. [This may chance but it won’t be petals she’s carrying for sure!]
Also, instead of confetti, each guest will get a rose, and [hoepfully], toss it up in the air after we are pronounced husband & wife.

I like the silk petals idea and agree with others that no one will notice they’re fake. Here’s another idea for something to hold if you’re leaning in that direction. It’s called a pomander ball. I think they’re super cute!

I vote for holding something. 🙂
