If it’s on your left hand, I’ll assume it’s an engagement ring and that you have awesome taste. If you love it, don’t worry about what other people think.

I love it personally! Very unqiue. And its a diamond, so, automatically if its on that finger I think its an E ring.

mrzbrownez:  I would definitely think it was an engagement ring! Particularlly if it was being worn on the left ring finger. That being said, a friend of mine has a custom ring that’s bow shaped and decked out – she wears it on her right so she can wear her band “without feeling like a Real Housewife” lol

If you like it- rock it. Very pretty

As i stranger, looking at it, I would not think that was an engagement ring. I can’t help but feel it would be tough to wear as an “all the time” ring.

mrzbrownez:  if it was on the left ring finger, I would. everyone has their own unique style, but that finger is kind of the universal way of saying engaged/married! its pretty 🙂

Cocktail ring or statement piece. Don’t let that deter you though! What’s important is that YOU love it!

I think if you love something, you should not worry too much about whether something “looks like” an engagement ring or not, as if there is certain standard.

I’ve been married a few years as well, and honestly, I feel anything I wear on that finger is a symbol of our vows to each other, be it a simple band or an elaborate cocktail ring. I don’t call mine engagement rings, because they aren’t, but they are still symbols to me of our vows. If I see someone wearing a ring on their left ring finger in this part of the world, whatever it looks like, I assume the same.

No one doubts the Duchess of Cambridge is married, do they, and she wears a ring that would be classified a “cocktail ring” by many (and is not a diamond because uh, despite what slomotion said above many people wear coloured gemstones and such as engagement rings).

Also, why is it important that people look at you and say “she is engaged/married”? If you go sans ring, you aren’t any less married so….

This is a new ring to me – I got it as a RHR but I have been wearing it as an alternate on my left ring finger a lot since I got it almost two weeks ago as it is so low profile and easy to wear, and love it. It definitely is not the “typical” engagement or wedding ring style:

When I see someone with a ring on their left ring finger, I assume they’re either engaged or married, whether the ring looks like a “traditional” engagement ring or something more avante garde like the ring you posted.

While it personally is a bit big for my tastes for everyday wear (it looks like it would get caught on everything), it is a very pretty ring.  If you love it, that should be all that matters.

mrzbrownez:  i’d think cocktail ring, because of the overall size and design (it doesn’t seem like the type of ring you’d wear with another ring)

RayKay:  I have not seen your ring!  Actually, my mom wears a ring very similar except that the marquise is straight on instead of on an angle.  No one mistakes it for anything but an engagement or wedding ring.
