Just for fun… let’s say someone gave you 10% of your wedding budget, with the condition that you had to spend it on the wedding. So for example if your budget (or actual spending) is $20,000, you now have $2,000 of found money. If your budget is $1,000 you get $100. Use your actual number and take 10%…
Where would you allocate it? Would you get a fancier dress? Spend it on food or the bar? Add something you currently aren’t planning to have, like a videographer? Or would you distribute it across multiple categories to boost everything up just a little bit?
ETA: The honeymoon definitely counts as wedding-related!

If someone gave us an extra $1500, I probably would have gotten a videographer. I would have said I’d put it towards a full open bar (we just had a limited) but that wouldn’t even come close to covering the extra cost.
Now, if the Honeymoon was considered part of the wedding, I’d have used it to upgrade that.

Id extend the honeymoon. Or use it on decor.

@hopefloats: Absoooooooooolutely. I would put it right toward the honeymoon.

I’d probably use it for the honeymoon!

Lighting. It was something we really pushed our budget for and I loved the look and the feel of it. It was something I had always wanted.

I would have put it towards my dress. While I like my dress, I know if I had a 2000 budget, vs. a 1000 budget, I would have a lovlier dress.
Or get some badass excursions for Jamacia.

Yep, if I were to get an extra £1,500 I’d get a videographer. I would love one – but they’re £1,350!
I’m going to push and see if we can get one. I’ve found a videographer that’s not just good, but AMAZING. And I’d love to be able to watch what happened when I wasn’t around to see it.

I’d save it for the honeymoon =D
have the ceiling decorated.
but probably the honeymoon! lol

If I had an extra $1500ish I would either hire a videographer, or maybe get a photobooth.. those are always so fun! Or maybe put towards the honeymoon–technically that’s part of the wedding.. gosh there’s so many things I would use it for!

- Wedding: June 2014 - Ontario, Canada ♥ EDD- April 2016
That would be about $1500 and I would put it towards decor or a fancy videographer. With our videography budget now we can only go local (and we live in a small town) and there are pretty slim pickings haha 😉

I would either decide to have a wedding coordinator to finish planning this for me or videography. I would probably go with the coordinator because I really don’t want to finish planning and doing all of the small things.

I would probably add more flowers and a wider variety of cocktail hour hors d’ouerves.

First choice would be honeymoon.
Second choice would be a raw bar during cocktail hour, and extra lighting in the reception.

Lighting and Videographer. We had to cut those out!
