I actually think the pro make up looks pretty good too. You look great in all of these pictures, not at all like Ronald McDonald and it definitely does not “age” you at all. What I do notice (as someone who is FAR from a pro at make up and is looking at this objectively) is that these are totally different looks. If you wanted the evening glam look, the pro trial looks great for that kind of stuff. However if you really want that soft bride look in your last picture that looks gorgeous too. Personally I prefer more of a simple look so I prefer that last picture over the first one, but only because that is my preference. The trial looks great too to me as an objective observer.

It bugs me when wedding makeup artists put on a crap ton of makeup because photos, ignoring the fact that your husband is going to be staring at you 6 inches away from your face while you say your vows. You look great in all
photos but I like your application better – it looks more natural yet gorgeous!

I agree with others. The make up you did is so much better. You want to feel beautiful on your wedding day, not like an old maid. You will look stunning 🙂

I agree your make up looks much better! Though in the 2nd picture the foundation doesn’t soo too “cakey” maybe a tiny bit by the chin but it seems to be full coverage. But your make up deff looks a lot more natural 🙂

offbeatxbridex: your makeup you did is stunning! I think that you were correct in saying the MUA didnt do a great job. Your self done makeup is much more tasteful (and cheaper!!)

Same thing happened to me. By a happy coincidence my shitty “professional” “award winning” “opening her own makeup studio” makeup artist bailed on me. So now I’m having myself and my sister do my bridal makeup.

I don’t think your trial was horrible, but you definitely did a much better job.
