We did local B&B tour for our minimoon then said we’d go on a big trip in a few mos. Well, we’ve been married for 5 mos, and we just bought plane tickets to Italy!
Minimoon was perfect for us based on my school schedule, work schedule…also, since I had waited for marriage, I wanted to have time to adjust to the physical aspect of rel’nship and not be as pressures to sightsee…
The *weird thing is, we invited others..it’s not that we don’t LOVE spending time together, alone, but we just thought such a big trip would be more fun with others! So far at least my work friend and my sister are going, and I am SO EXCITED! This will be our last big trip before I graduate in December and try for a baby. 😀

We did a honeymoon and we’re following up with a mini-moon, lol. We’re actually going in June 2010 on a cruise with a bunch of friends, right around our 1 year anniversary! HA! (Dec and June are OUR last two vacays before baby-making too! glad i’m not alone in wanting a blow out before that! ha!)
Darling Husband actually said that while the honeymoon was great, it’d be a lot of fun to go with friends so that we could hang out as a group after dinner and stuff or go to the bars and be silly. We love each other’s company, but we don’t just go to a bar and hang out together. We’d rather sip a drink in bed.
I don’t think inviting friends kills the romance at all! As long as you still get some dinners together and obviously, you aren’t sharing a room with them!
Edit: Our december crusie we’re going with my parents, lol

we went on a mini-moon before the honeymoon…but we didn’t post-pone our honeymoon that much. We just took a couple days and stayed in a cute little town in Western MI before heading out to our Italian adventure.
We booked all our hotels through hotwire and paid less than $100 for 4-5 star hotels. It was worth it!
But we’re also planning a weekend cruise with friends in the fall because it’s so cheap now. If you have friends you both get along with well, I think a friends vacation can be a blast!

We’re not sure, but because of the timing of our wedding, we’ll probably go for a minimoon right after, and then go on a honeymoon on our first anniversary (or maybe later…like our 10th or 25th, or something).

There has been talk about just going on a minimoon then maybe doing a honeymoon over the summer. I’m not that fond of the idea. Vacation during summer = more money. And I don’t want to keep going to cool places without the kids. I’m kind of on the fence about the whole minimoon thing right now.

I’m still holding out hope for my big honeymoon in Aruba!

We did a minimoon for three days after the wedding. Initially we had a big trip to Thailand planned (my mom has a time share there). Then she decided that SHE wanted to come too…. Umm. It was her house so we figured we would invite two other couples as well, and travel a little more. Both couples can’t go anymore (money, work, etc) so now we are deciding if the free lodging is worth honeymooning with my mother. 🙂 I really hope we decide to do SOMETHING big.
