the whole zuckerburg thread got me thinking….would you work even if you were not required to for financial reasons? and if so what would you do? and if not what would you spend your time doing? im curious 🙂
personally I would still work, both to earn my own money because that means something to me, and to keep my mind busy and feel like I had a purpose. I may not keep the money I made, I may donate it, or hand it out simply because I can but I would still need to earn something and work towards something for myself that didnt come from anyone but me. For some staying home is the dream but for me I would undoubtedly go stir crazy. I would be a failure as a stay at home wifemother. Im a mom and I think im a great mother but I can honestly say that I am not a natural mother. I have to work real hard at being nurturing and warm and showing that side of myself. My son brings it out in me. That kid had my heart from day one but because of who I am as an individual I would struggle to be a stay at home mother. But thats just me 🙂

I would go crazy too with nothing to do! I would work, probably as a travel photographer. If I were a billionaire, I would also probably start a charity too : ) I’m looking forward to hearing others’ responses!

I wouldn’t stay at my current job, and I would probably take off about 6 months, but after that I don’t think I could stand just staying home. I would want to work somewhere because I enjoy it.

I would be able to have my dream horse farm. I’d want to train horses.
I’d also want to do some charity/volunteer work, most likely horse related as well as a fair bit of travel.

If I was a billionaire with access to the cash, then I’d make volunteer work my full-time job.

Millionare – I’d probably work still. Somewhere more fun, however.
Billionare?!? Hell to the no. I’d travel. Relax. Paint. Play with my dog. I would not be one of those people who would get bored.

Hell NO! At least not for the first few years. I’d travel, work on myself (get a personal trainer so I can look like J. Lo), party all the time, and enjoy the part of NYC I’ve never been able to. Maybe I’d get bored and want to work, but I think I’d do something fluffy without much commitment so I could jet off whenever I wanted to!

If I had earned a billion+ dollars, I imagine I’d be the type of person who HAD to work!
I love my current job and would probably stay here for 6 – 12 months while I ramped someone to replace me. After that, I think I’d try to get involved working in management of alternative education. I have a real passion for new and different methods of education (Kahn Academy, Montessori, Homeschooling/co-op resources, etc) and would love to have the resources to both be very financially comfortable and put a lot of time/money/attention into that.
It’s a very political type of “volunteer” work and has a lot of money roadblocks, so if money was no issue, that would be a huge factor in being able to accomplish a lot in that area.

HELL no! If I were a billionaire I’m sure I’d have plenty of things to do to fill my time like shop, travel, roll around in Benjamins, etc. In all seriousness though, I’d volunteer my time with causes that I care about. Maybe do some mission work. I’d definitely keep busy but working a 9-5 wouldn’t be in the cards for me.

I would do charity/volunteer work, and I would still work to earn a bit of money and have something to do. I think I’d open a cupcake shop! I would love to do that now but there’s no market for it in my area 🙁 If I was a billionaire it wouldn’t matter haaha, I could just do what I loved

@redheadem: I’d probably get a personal trainer and personal chef as well.
Although if I were riding horses for hours a day every day I might not really need the personal trainer.

@UpstateCait: roll around in benjamins… lmao!!! I would make time to do this too!

If I were a billionaire, I’d be busy doing animal rescue.

and btw, I never said i would do a 9-5!!! lol just to clarify. whatever I did would be something I wanted to do not somethng I did only for a paycheck. And I would have the luxury of picking and choosing what to do. But i would need that to feel like myself.

Hell no. I’d call this place immediately and be like: “PEACE YA’LL”.
Then I would proceed to do what makes me happy, along with volunteering/giving money and time to organizations that mean a lot to me. Or start my own.
Either way, I would never step a toe in this building again!
