Would you prefer to see a live stream of the New York ball drop over a big screen……or a video such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3awadQQ3kgg over a big screen?? Of course there will be the usual hats/noisemakers too already
As you can see…I’m trying to figure out what guests might enjoy better! Or maybe I shouldn’t have anything over the screen and just do noisemakers/hats/tiaras and music with our own yelling countdown??
Any opinions of thoughts?
I’m only concerned about streaming it online and it not matching up with the time zone right (central)? Idk how it would work!

@laurel946: I don’t think you really need to do anything – it’s a wedding, not a new years eve party.
If you did want to do a countdown, I wouldn’t stream it on TV – I think that would take away from the wedding feel – perhaps get your DJ/Band/MC to do a countdown for you?

@laurel946: Just do your own countdown lead by the band/DJ/MC and play a great song at midnight! No need for videos!

I went to a NYE wedding once and they played the ball drop on a projector (Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve, or whatever – it was before streaming was a thing!).
Also, it was the absolute best way to spend a NYE. Everyone I loved and wanted to hang with was in one room, and no rando bar dbags!!

@laurel946: I would definitely want to see the ball drop on a screen! How fun! I want to go to a NYE wedding!

I would say you should have the ball drop streamed so everyone watches it. It’ll take like five minutes away from your wedding which would probably be taken away because people would most likely find a way to watch the ball drop even if you didn’t stream it.

I would go with the ball drop if you go with a video. You could just have your DJ do a countdown.

That sounds like so much fun! I’d love to go to a NYE wedding.

Definitely try to figure out a way to stream the ball drop! (: I watch it every year and it would create an awesome atmosphere if everyone could watch it together while celebrating something awesome (your marriage!!).

As long as you have an amazing champagne toast at midnight, I’d be happy with anything!

@laurel946: I wouldn’t expect or need any of that stuff, but it would be pretty awesome to have an online ball drop screening! 😀

I went to a NYE wedding and from what I remember (ha!) we just did a loud countdown! It was fun!

@laurel946: I went to one, all they did was a count down. I think a video would be great but isn’t necessary. A maybe a countdown and a round of passed champagne.
