uberlove:  We got married on the beach in Isla Mujeres Mexico, a tiny island that’s a 30 min. ferry ride from Cancun. It was so easy & carefree- best decision we ever made (thanks to a wonderful coordinator at the resort- we don’t even speak a lick of spanish)! We did have 4 guests there though, due to legal witness requirements.

I would’ve loved to elope to some exotic beach (i.e. Maldives), but I’m pretty sure my Mother-In-Law would’ve murdered me if we did that.  I think as long as it’s just you and your Fiance, things will go pretty smoothly; it’s everyone else that makes wedding planning complicated lol.

Cruises, bed & breakfasts, and big resorts often offer elopment packages where they do all of the legwork for you. All you need to do is show up, get your license, and say your vows. You could also hire a wedding planner at your location to do the work for you. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

We are going to either Fiji or Bora Bora. It will be just us, and we want it that way. His family wanted us to do a Destination Wedding so they could make a trip out of it, but he didn’t want that. We will still have a photographer, hair stylist, cake, a planner through the resort and stuff like that. BUT we will be getting legally married before we go there becuase I don’t want to deal with all of that to make sure it’s considered legal here.

We were thinking of Florida since its close and easy.  Jamaica or fiji would be gorgeous!

We had actually seriously considered this. We would have gone to the FL Keys. Most likely Bahia Honda.

This beach is one of the more popular ones. But there’s another beach on the island that’s less visited.

Im getting married in Fiji this august at the warwick resort. You can arrange witness’s at the resorts for the elopement. We are having family with us but we looked into eloping and they fully arrange for people to sign the documents for you 🙂

Good luck! i dont think you will regret it 🙂 Fiji is a beautiful spot to be married!

We got married last year on Palm Island – a small private island in the Grenadines.  It was perfect.  A beautiful related wedding for 2!

uberlove:  you guys should consider the Cayman Islands! I guess I’m biased because our wedding will be there, but we’ve been there a number of times and you can have as remote a wedding as you would like 🙂 Plus it’s fairly easy to arrange what you need, I’m kind of out of things to arrange and it’s a year out :/

We looked heavily into St. Thomas…  less legal hoops and such since it is a US Territory.  Financially we decided against it but I still follow this blog:  http://islandblissweddings.com/
