niki2015:  I’m all about color! If I had the money I’d do off white cabinets, chrome accents, vintage tile backsplash (possibly herringbone), and COLOR! Also, white marble with gray veining countertops and farmhouse sink. Drool.

    A couple examples:

I have all white appliances and a white farm sink, white cabinets(distressed) light grey countertops adding ultra pale baby blue walls. Medium Gray slate floor. Love my kitchen!! The super light blue makes it so relaxing!

I was lucky enough to get my dream kitchen in our new build; dark cabinets, dark granite with tints of brown, light brown tile (which looks darker in the photo) and stainless steel appliances. Our kitchen is large and open so it never looks dark. I don’t have many pictures of the kitchen so sorry about the crappy angles. The first picture is the day we moved in so excuse the mess and lack of decor. The second is a far view but you get the idea. Both days were pretty cloudy (which was awesome for moving lol).

I do love white cabinets in houses though. I think they are gorgeous but just isn’t the fit for us. If you can’t tell by my photos, we love browns and wood tones 🙂

I would love light grey kitchen cabinets with a white quartz.  We have the opposite right now, all white cabinets and grey quartz.  Our house was an investor owned flipped property so it was fully gutted and renovated and I love all the finishes they picked but I would’ve just switched those two colors, I wasn’t going to be THAT picky though ahahaha

We just got done remodeling our kitchen! We did it all ourselves with the help of my stepdad so there are a lot of little quirks (plus it is a 90 year old home) so it is by no means perfect. Plus we’re still working on finishing touches.

I LOVE white and am so glad we went with it – especially because our kitchen is small. I’m really into the industrial style too though so there are some darker accents. We did light grey (Universal Grey by Glidden) walls, white cabinets (“shaker”ish style but with a smooth bevel not sharp lines), white subway tile with dark grey grout, a HUGE white farm sink, oil rubbed bronze handles, faucets, and fixtures, ebony stained butcher block countertops, and white vintage style appliances.

White is so overdone these days IMO. Everyone is doing it. I suggest going for something a little different and adding some warmth to the area. to me, white is so cold and uninviting. I like my home to be cozy. We just built a new house with really warm wood tones and I love it and it’s still moden and open and bright.

    Good luck!

I would do light grey cabinets and white counter tops.  I love the look of subway tile for backsplashes and would do a custom tiled accent wall around a sink window or other feature.  I know many are against white counters because they show dirt but I feel that is a plus in a food prep area.  You can easily tell if your counter is clean or dirty or missed a spot when wiping us spills.  I love the combo of open shelving and cabinets.  Also the only thing this kitchen is missing is an island.  I recently did a small facelift in my kitchen.  I chose a cream colored counter top I hate it now. Should have gone for the white like my gut said but I let others talk me out of it.   I do love my sink.  It is very deepl, two sided and has a goose neck faucet.  I would rather have a faucet with one handle  instead of the two but its not that bad.  Also my new floor tile was laid very boxy.  I asked for it to be at an angle but had left town for a week.  Came back to beautiful tile work but laid very square.  The angle makes a big difference and I suggest laying all flooring in a kitchen at an angle like in the pic.

We just renovated our kitchen, and we chose white shaker cabinets, dark gray quartz counters, and a marble tile backsplash. We also put in a large island with a overhang for some stools (not truly a breakfast bar since it’s counter height and not bar height). Darling Husband had a lot of input in the sink- it’s 30″ wide and 10″ deep, single basin. Ours is right below a window to our backyard; I love it.
