I ALWAYS notice smell. Ive been to houses before and needed to shower and wash my clothes when I got home because the couch stunk like dirty animal or smoke. I love to see how people decorate spaces. So I am always checking out the decor. I keep my bathrooms clean, so I like seeing that in other homes, but if you leave all of your rhings out on the counter…I’m going to look at all of them. I love kitchens (probably because mine is the size of a closet) and I always secretly feel better about my sink full of dirty dishes if I see someone elses dishes out. Lol. I almost always play with peoples pets when im at their house. So if the pet is not well cared for or spends the entire day locked up I get a little complainy about it. Lol.

I think if someone came to my house and snooped they would be so incredibly unimpressed. Theyd find allergy meds and tylenol in my medicine cabinet, and typically if were having guests I clean and make sure everything is tidy ( even though we keep a very clean house anyways). I make no promises that you wont get a little hair on you, as we have a cat and a dog, but they are bathed very regularly and not on the furniture if they arent clean. So no odd animal smells.

This is really funny! I love knowing im not the only nosy person!!

Also, we are renting right now. So I like to check out the layout of people’s homes. If I can get a tour I will takeIit! I like knowing what works and what would be a great idea for when we go to buy or build our own home. Some things are really inconvenient,  and some things im like omg I need that in my house!!! =)

Interesting! Clutter, smell, decor….not that I’m picky with decor but for example, my Future Mother-In-Law has EVERYTHING in her house gold. Now she’s gotten rid of a lot of stuff, but when my SO & I first started dating, every inch of the wall was covered in paintings, every 3 inches of space on top of furniture or cabinets had something on top of it, the washer & dryer were painted (gold? silver? something)

That I noticed. I find gold very very tacky. I get that you like gold, why are you putting it EVERYWHERE???

This same woman comes into our house & tells SO “You guys just have a very different style & different taste than I do….but that’s okay” Omg. I wasn’t there thank GOD bc I think my jaw would’ve dropped. We’re simple, I’m way more modern, and we’re more budget conscious than she is so yep, very different.

Smell, specifically animal smell (cat pee/poo especially)…or if I step on cat litter going into the bathroom or something.

@MrsPanda99:  In general I don’t notice too much. I notice if someone has an annoying pet, and one thing that will make me go out as fast as I came in is if someone has a dog/cat that jumps all over me the whole time I am there (I put so many hours into training my dog to leave company alone). I notice strong smells. I notice hairy furniture (I lint roll my furniture before I have company so they don’t get any kind of hair on them). I also notice if there is a reasonable place to put my coat (sorry, I hate putting my coat in a back bedroom, if I want to leave, I want to have my stuff).

You would probably be horrified at how cluttered it is. My husband is like a tornado of stuff. Haha. It is embarassing. I work every day to keep the clutter at bay, but if I don’t tidy every single day…..stuff. Mountains of stuff. We are working on getting storage containers and getting everything in its place, but it is slow going!

My house is clean though! (Except for the dog hair…I don’t understand how he isn’t bald. I sweep up piles of dog hair every day!)

Dirty baseboards drive me bonkers, but I only know maybe 2 families who clean their baseboards so I really gotta get over it.

@mrspinesol:  Sorry that I wasn’t clear. I mean when you DO have family, especially when you have nieces and nephews that you claim to be close to, and you have pictures of nobody but yourself. I’m not hating on people who have pictures of themselves on the walls when they have other photos as well…I’m talking about people who ONLY hang photos of themselves…even when they have family that they are “close” to.
