Our groom’s cake is pie!!  Fiance doesn’t like cake very much, so we’re also having a blueberry tart and a strawberry rhubarb pie.

Of course, since we decided that, he’s gone off carbs completely and won’t even have any on his wedding day…sigh.

I’m building a mini-fortress shaped tower of Hostess snack cakes. When we first started planning, he mentioned he would want something like this. I vehemently objected, only because I wanted to be able to surprise him with it later.

As background, I plan on doing this at the rehearsal dinner.

I’m surprising my Fiance with a jersey cake (similar to this) but it will be his favorite college team with our new last name across the back (and not “Happy Birthday”).

Fiance picked his out!  It is the cake from the video game “Portal.”  He and his buds are avid computer geeks and love to play video games together.  This is going to make them all very, very happy 🙂

Inspiration pic from the video game:

Our grooms cake will be served at the rehearsal dinner (we have sooo many sweets already at wedding)

It’s a chocolate/chocolate fudge cake in the shape of a comp. monitor with computer code on it.  =)

I’m Doing something like this for Fiance only each drum head will have a different logo: Harley Davidson, Boston Red Sox, Xbox, and Sam Adams beer.  He was in/teaches marching band drumline.  He doesn’t know anything about it and I’m very excited for him to see it!

@Bella_Erminia86:  Totally my FI’s second choice…he was torn between hockey theme and what he ultimately decided on, which is…

An exact replica of his backpacking tent complete with miniatures that will sit in front of it including a camp file, cooler, lantern, camping chair, and a 12-pack.

@princessbelle:  That’s awesome!  I hope it turns out well.  I love to bake, but I don’t think my cakes would ever look like this.  Post a picture somewhere when it’s finished!

There are some very cute groom’s cakes here! Fiance has asked his sister to make his because he thinks she makes the best carrot cake with cream cheese icing in the world, and we really didn’t feel right asking anyone else! It’s going to be Harley Davidson theme since Fiance is big time into motorcycles. It’s just going to be a big square with white cream cheese frosting and the HD logo printed on edible ‘paper’ and our baker is going to custom make a cake topper to look like us as a bride and groom riding a Harley. I can’t wait to see it!
