If you're doing a unity ceremony are you playing a song?

Following because I don’t know about this either, lol.  We’re doing the 3-cord ceremony but…it just doesn’t take that long to make a braid?  I dunno.

We had a reading done during our unity ceremony. It seemed silly to have a 15 second song

We are, but our unity ceremony will be longer — we have to walk over to a table on the stage (and in my ballgown, I’ll probably be moving slower than normal), light the unity candle, take our unity shots (yes for real lol), and then we will also sign our marriage license there and have our MOH/BM sign too. So I figure that will all take up enough time to warrant playing a short 3 minute song.

If your unity ceremony is going to take under a minute, then I think the suggestion to have someone do a reading during that time is a good one.

We had a hand fasting, and there was no song. We had the officiant talk about the ceremony and its significance, and then do the actual fasting. It took about 20 seconds.
