I looked at many pictures of bathroom baskets for inspiration. I got a lot of good ideas, and my baskets were a hit. The only problem was, no one knew they were from me and my husband! Everyone thought the venue provided them. I had noticed a lot of people attached a note to their basket with a little poem or paragraph including something like “compliments of the bride and groom.” I didn’t include a note on my baskets because I thought it wasn’t necessary, and now I totally regret it. Don’t let your venue get credit for the hard work and money you put into your baskets. I wasn’t looking for anyone to give me any thanks or credit for mine, but it really bothered me that my venue got it when they didn’t deserve it.

Thanks for the tip! Good to know, I hadn’t thought of a note either

Awesome tip! I was thinking of doing one too.

We had signs and a lot of people commented and thanked us for it. Sorry you didn’t get credit or thanks but I’m glad your guests enjoyed and your hard work was well used.

@jg780806: Thanks for the advice..sorry there was confusion with the work you put in!
..Can I ask what you did include in the baskets? Sounds like a great idea!

@jg780806: Me too! UGH! Even my Mother-In-Law thought the venue provided it. Why the hell would the venue provide it? They charged us for everything – cake cutting, dance floor, etc, etc so why would they provide that?!? Lol. I even included a note that said “….Love my name+groom’s name” and she still didn’t get it.
I know it’s just a small thing, but it kind of irritated me that no one seemed to have any idea how any little touches I had made to create a very personal wedding for our guests. I would recommend making it very obvious that it is your touch – I think some people swiped stuff from ours becuse they thought it was from the venue!!!

@gm234: I know you didn’t ask me, but I thought I’d chime in! 🙂
We included makeup wipes, baby wipes, floss, mouth wash w/little cups, mints, spray deoderant, hair spray, Tide-to-go pen, tampons…We went to the travel sized beauty section at the dollar store and Target (along w/using my own stash of things) to get tiny items. lol.

@jg780806: Great tip- I would never have thought to do that!

@jg780806: Mine didn’t turn out that fabulous, so I wouldn’t really mind not taking credit, lol

I wouldn’t have even thought about a note!
Now it’s noted!

Haven’t even thought of it! I think they are a super cute idea and I am strongly considering them [if we have a little wiggle room in the budget].
Even if guests don’t use everything, it’s all stuff that can be used by the couple.

@gm234: So much stuff, I can’t even remember. Mouth wash and cups, body sprays, lotion, hairspray, mini first aid kit, mini sewing kit, manicure kit, tylenol, tums, mini flossers, mini tooth brushes (with toothpaste built-in), cough drops, clear nail polish, mints, gum, and more I can’t think-of. I’ll post a picture when I get pictures back fromt he photographer. I think she took a pic of them.

My sister did baskets at her wedding and the venue was kind enough to make a point to tell her to add a little card or note informing guests it was from the bride and groom. My sister was a wedding planner, so she knew as much to begin with, but still, mega kudos to her venue for being so on top of their stuff 🙂
Something like that would drive me crazy. I’m not looking for a pat on the back, but if I go out of my way to do something and someone else gets credit…RAWR.
