…have you gone back to the salon to try it on again? Or have you thought about doing that? I ordered my dress only a month ago but I’m anxious to put it on again. I’m not necessarily having second thoughts…I think it’s the perfect dress for me, but as time goes on, I forget that “rush” I felt when I put it on for the first time and a little anxiety is creeping in. I know I had that feeling, but just looking at the picture of me in it isn’t cutting it any more. LOL. I’d like to reassure myself that I made the right choice.
So, would it be weird to stop by the salon to ask to put it on again? I can’t conjure up an excuse other than I just feel like putting it on again for reassurance. Do you think the bridal salons run into this, or will they think I’m being silly?

I wish I could go and try the sample on, but the bridal shop sold it. I don’t think it would be weird, and probably something that happens. The shop I used told me that girls came in all the time to “visit” their dresses and that they would call me as soon as mine came in so I could come “visit” too.

As a Bridal shop Manager let me just tell you.. it happens all the time! Many of our Brides come back in to “show” someone else their dress or just to “try it on with shoes” to check the length, we hear all kinds of reasons and we know many of them feel the same way you do and that is fine. My only advise is to try and go to the salon when they are less busy and let your consultant know you don’t require much of their time.Plus you can shop for your accessories while trying your dress back on, it is perfectly normal so don’t worry a bit. Best of luck!

I don’t think it would be wierd if you stopped back by to try it on again! I have tried my dress on twice and I plan to go back again this weekend! My shoes came in so I really want to see them with my dress!
And I’m sure bridal boutiques run into this all the time!

I’m so glad you posted about this topic! I also ordered my dress about a month ago and it’s been hard to resist the urge to go back and try on a sample of my dress while I wait. I do need to make a decision about accessories and shoes so I think that would be the perfect excuse (thanks to the bee that suggested that). Anyways, the point is that you are not alone by any means. I say go and try on your dress again!

You don’t want to take up their time so I agree with others that you need to go when its not busy.

Go for it! I tried mine on again when I went dress shopping with a couple of my bridesmaids, and it was just as much fun as the first time! Plus, the shop will hold mine after it comes in until right before the wedding, so I already told them I’ll be in to try it on again!

I so wish I could. I live in VA and I ordered my dress in NJ. I was thinking about calling around down here to see if any shops have the sample but would feel weird since I wouldn’t be buying anything there. Thanksgiving weekend we are going back to the same shop to look at Maid/Matron of Honor dresses for my sister so I am hoping they still have my sample so I can atleast admire it.

@enoh102: I am having a similar dilemna. I live in NYC and ordered my dress in Texas, I want to try my dress on with my shoes so bad but I don’t think that NYC bridal salons are really known for being welcoming 🙁

LOL I did this only yesterday as I found myself working only 10mins away from the bridal shop. I also wanted to look at accessories and ask a couple of questions about underwear and as other people have said I went knowing it would be quieter than popping in on a Saturday. When I got there and told an assistant what dress i’d oredered she rang up the designer company and asked when it’s expected in. I only ordered it two weeks ago this Saturday but as you say I just wanted ‘that feeling’ again and I SO DID have the feeling again if not more so! Plus I found some great shoes i’ll order. The other assistant who did my fitting 2 weeks ago actually said to me to come in again before it arrives – bless her.
edit – can put a picture of you now to your post as I commented on your dress yesterday and how it looks so much better in ivory than white.

Well, I went back today, not once, but twice! (Darnit, forgot my camera the first time! Argh! The only time I ever wish I had an iPhone is when I forget my camera!)
Anyway, I bought a veil from another store last weekend and I wanted to get an idea of how my dress would look with a cathedral length, lace-edged veil, so I put on some make-up and got to the salon soon after they opened. The ladies were very nice and accommodating. If any Bees in the Dallas area are looking for a salon, I highly recommend Stardust Celebrations in Plano.
So I felt that same excited, “this is THE ONE!!!” feeling when I put my dress back on…I breathed a huge and happy sigh of relief, and I’m even more excited than ever! And I’m so glad I went for a lace-edged cathedral veil…it looks amazing with my dress, even though the one I bought is a little different than the one I tried on today.
Thanks for chiming in on my post…I felt better going today knowing that other brides feel/have felt the same way!!
Here are some pictures I took today:

Wow your dress is gorgeous! Congrats!! And thanks for posting this! I was just having this conversation with Bridesmaid or Best Man that came with me to buy my dress. I bought it a month ago and I didn’t take any pictures, and I’ve been dying to just go in and try it on again just to reassure myself and refresh my memory. I’d definitely take some pictures this time too!

That veil looks great with your dress.
I’m having a long veil too, from the assistant’s advice.

I love your dress! And that veil is stunning!
I tried to go in and try my dress on again when we were Bridesmaid or Best Man dress shopping because only my Maid/Matron of Honor was able to be with me when I ordered it. Unfortunately, I ended up with a brat of a consultant who pretty much refused to let me look for it, let alone try it on! I told her I would like to try it on to show my BM’s and she said “it probably sold, so we don’t have it”, before I could even tell her that I had just ordered it a week ago, so it was probably still there, and I didn’t even get to tell her what it looked like so how does she know it isn’t there. We left the salon and went to a different one where I then ordered all the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and a veil, after trying on a similar style at their store.
Somebody just lost herself a lot of comission 😛
