We are looking into getting one!! We actually went to Ikea and spent a few hours looking at designs, colors, etc. My advice before you go is to take measurements of your kitchen and cabinets. Ikea has this great “room planner” where you can plug in your measurements and basically build your kitchen online. It gives you a price quote for everything you want to do (not including labor). It was SOO helpful. We are saving now and plan to do it next year.

I have done a lot of research and can’t find any negative reviews on their quality. Good luck!

My aunt has had IKEA cabinets for about 15 years in her kitchen, and they are still in top shape! My best friend and her husband also just installed a new IKEA kitchen in their new house, and it went really well! I think it’s a great idea!

I looked at a house before that was Ikea kitchen and it was beutiful.  They paired it up with high end applicances and fixtures so it didnt look ‘Ikea’ to me.  I wouldnt really furnish with a lot of their stuff, but the kitchen cabinets look really nice

The place we rent is Ikea cabinet and drawers. I like them – they’re easy to clean, they have the no-slam feature thing (where it shuts itself gently the last 1/2 inch). I don’t really know what else to say about them.

Oh, we do have a lazy susan corner cabinet that I hate. It’s screwed in at the top but the bottom is like a tension rod with a rubber foot, and it moves sooooo much. I can’t spin it without adjusting the bottom. Every single time, I tell ya.

I think that’s Ikea, just because everything else is. They might have other options too though.

From what I’ve heard about Ikea kitchens, they look best when you have them professionally installed instead of tryign to doing it on your own.

The look BEAUTIFUL in the showroom – but I’m guessing professionals do that lol.

Best of luck!

My SIL and I both have IKEA cabinents- they’re real wood and when installed correctly  are great. Our condo came with them (previous owner installed them wrong) and my Brother-In-Law installed theirs- do it right or have a professional do it.

I’m in the midst of a kitchen renovation right now (ugh, nightmares!  like the cabinet guy not leaving enough space for the standard size stove).  I wanted to comment on the no-slam drawers though – this is my first time with them and I keep trying to slam them anyhow bc I forgot.  I hope I don’t end up breaking them because of that!

You can DIY on some easy things like painting to save some cash, but it’s really not worth it in my mind to try to save on things like installing the kitchen floor.  My bf did the bathroom and you can tell, compared to our new kitchen floor.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on Ikea kitchens lately, actually. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The reviews are really good on their cabinets, with some caveats. The warranty is good (15 years), and they’re some of the best in their price range, but the doors can be irregular and you may need to return a few before you get perfect fits (I’ve read that the white cabinet doors are a little better at hiding the defects than the dark ones). I wouldn’t get their countertops since the only options are laminates and butcher blocks, which are not very high quality. But when we do our kitchen (when we have a kitchen to do? It’s a long story ;), we’re going to go with Ikea cabinets and get our countertops elsewhere.

I SWOON over IKEA kitchens! If we move into a fixer-upper, we’re going with IKEA for a better kitchen, for sure. I mean, LOOK at this place!
