I’m having a mini panic attack right now. So I picked up my bridesmaid dress today from the seamstress and tried it on as soon as I got home only to find that it’s not particularly flattering. The last time I tried the dress on was about a week and a half ago and I was happy with the fit, but today it just looks and feels different and I wasnt sure why. At first I thought I was being paranoid or hyper-critical but I think there may be an actual issue.
I just realized that it seems like all of the boning was removed from the bodice of the dress. There is way less structure in the chest and in the lower back region. It’s not really noticable in the front of the dress because it’s ruched and flowy in the stomach, but the back is very loose-fitting and was not as flattering as it was when I last tried it on. I only realized the issue after the seamstress was already closed so I have no choice but to wait until tomorrow to go back.
Does anyone know what could even be done for this? I’m afraid to have it taken in because what if God forbid it’s too tight afterwards. Tomorrow is thursday and this has to be done by friday because the wedding is on saturday! What I think may have happened is she accidentally removed the boning from my dress when she meant to do it for the junior bridesmaid. She did say she was removing the boning from hers but made no mention of doing that to the other dresses. We had straps added to the dresses so I’m wondering if that’s standard procedure? I don’t know I’m so worried though that this isnt going to get figured out in time. It cost me $75 for these alterations so I’m gonna be pretty upset to find out that this wasnt intentional and she made a mistake :-/
