Ooooooooohhhhh!!!! That’s is so pretty!!! And I like that it has sentimental value!
My ring is at the jeweler being sized down. My finger feels naked without it!
Ooooh, beautiful! ๐ BTW-I sent you an email.
@SoontobeMrsA: Wow.. I have never seen a setting like mine! Mine is my grandmother’s from the 1940’s! We had a new band put on it but we kept the original setting and had the prongs repaired.
Do you know what type of setting it’s called?
@HolyVowels: I know nothing about it! i always admired it and my grandparents left it to me in their will. It is so beautiful and I love having them so close. The diamond sits on a box and you can see the actual diamond shape. It is very deep cut (I think that is the right word).

@SoontobeMrsA: Mine is in a “box” too! Not a literal box like in the photo here… I just couldn’t get a good shot on my finger. Is yours yellow gold and white gold? I can’t tell from the picture. Mine had a yellow gold band and the setting was white gold. That was partially our reason for getting a new band put on it, that, and it was too small. We took it to a jeweler who has been in business for over 200 years but they didn’t have much to say about it. They just said the style was “old”. Uhhh, thanks! Are you having a wedding band?
Love the vintage rings! My custom ring is being made after an heirloom ring. When I said I wanted the center stone kept in the same metal “box” the jeweler explained it as a “plate” setting? I’m not sure if that’s the true name or anything. I love it though, it makes me feel like my diamond wont be knocked out and actually makes it look bigger!
@HolyVowels: I’ll have a wedding band but I don’t know what yet! My grandmothers was a simple yellow gold band which is too plain for me lol. My e-ring is yellow gold.
I’ve posted my pics before but most of my rings are vintage/antique. I wear bridal sets on both hands. My original e-ring is an Edwardian (square) with two bands soldered to it.
