I hope someone does because I want to see what this is? Google wasn’t giving me a clear answer.

I’m not 100% sure if mine classes as bezel or illusion (it’s an heirloom), but here it is.

I think mine qualifies; it’s also an heirloom from the 30’s I believe (belonged to DH’s grandmother).  It’s a yellow gold ring with squared off white gold setting, and the diamond is round.  I think they made them this way to make the diamond appear bigger (giving the “illusion” of a bigger stone).

dionsmom :  I think the term you’re looking for is “cluster”, which also gives the illusion of a larger stone.  An illusion setting is technically having added metal around a single stone.  Hope this is helpful!

Also, if you do a search on this site with the word “cluster” you’ll see a bunch of threads with some very pretty cluster rings like the pictures you posted 😊

My engagement ring and wedding ring are circa 1940 and the e-ring is an illusion setting with an OEC diamond (.22 ct). We went through a couple of CZ/silver three-stone settings before I found this beauty on eBay and I loved it so much my DH gave it to me for Christmas. The side of the setting has a heart cut out. So happy I found my forever set. My husband is happy I stopped switching out my rings!
