I just googled this question and there is a lot of advice out there.
Some ppl say it should be maid of honor since she is his closest friend just as the brides closest friend is a female and the maid of honor. So the bride would have a Maid/Matron of Honor and the groom would have his own Maid/Matron of Honor. Although it might appear confusing on the program. IDK LOL Good luck!

I saw that, too. There was also Bride’s Honor Attendant and Groom’s Ho or Attendant. Those are nice and gender neutral.
*ETA-Groom’s Honor Attendant! Damn you, autocorrect!

No, I think you meant to call her the Groom’s Ho

I need to agree with “Groom’s Ho!” 🙂
But I do like Groom’s Maid of Honor or Best Woman

We had a man on the brides side and a woman on the grooms side, although they weren’t the Best xxx or the Maid of xxx…we called them Bridesman and Groomswoman

Fiance was in one of his best friend’s wedding and he was a ‘bridesman’. Now she is being in our wedding as a ‘groomsmaid’. lol I think Grooms Maid of Honor sounds good!

The standard term seems to be “Best Woman,” but you can use anything that works for the couple and for you. In a reverse of that situation, my son was our “Dude of Honor.”
