@Corilee13: Your mom is a wise woman. I’d take her advice and be thankful you don’t have this crazy bitch in your life anymore.

I am honestly shocked. Never heard of something like this before.

@Corilee13: You would pay them upfront and would get then back as part of t he judgement. Altho, $200 seems expensive for small-claims court.

Honestly, if you really need to money you may consider having a lawyer draw up a letter to her. Often just the threat of litigation is enough to get folks to return what is yours.

Of course, the other course of action would be to do nothing, or do nothing except post the conversation onto facebook. Buuuuuuut…that would be pretty vidictive. I’d just save the conversations just in case and call it some of the best money you’ll ever spend.

I have been following this from the beginning and have been dying to know;  have you ever straight up asked her what you did “wrong”?  I really wonder what could have been so life shattering that she passive aggressively kicked you out of her wedding and stole $200 from you that you’re unaware of!

@Corilee13:

I would send my lawyer to have her served at her wedding. lol.

You entered into a contract (verbal and partially written) for her to provide a certain good, you paid and the good was never delivered.

Contact your cell phone provider and see what they can do for you in terms of obtaining the text messages between you and her. Send her a letter with them attached and ask for your money back. If she doesnt repond with a check that is good, file your claim. People like that disgust me, file that claim.

I also just looked at my county, In Sacramento it is:

fee for filing 12 claims or less per calendar year:   1,500 or less is 30$ to file a claim. You may be looking in the wrong spot for the filing fee?

 make sure you send the filing/letter certified mail.

@Corilee13:

I just read online, for where I live. It seems like a bunch of red tape, forms wise. The purpose of small claims is to NOT have to need a lawyer. I would just write the letter myself.

Mine says you must have someone deliver it, and fillout forms of who delivered it, and who they delivered it to. It says you can use a friend or coworker. I would also mail one IMOH (you can get a special must be signed for thing). Just incude where they can mail the check.

Once you file your claim you can sopena your phone records, for your phone company. I dont know how long they keep them though.

IMOH, its a lot of work, but just for the sake of it, I would do it. People like to get away with anything these days. 🙁

I’m just wondering if you’ve managed to resolve this one? Did you end up sending her a legal letter?

Really sucks that that had to happen to you. :((((
