davidsstylist:  a bit off topic, but what styles do you think go best with a petite bride? I am super short and want to look great without the dress overwhelming me!

davidsstylist: Awesome thread,  Thank you for sharing and educating us.  I bought my dress in a boutique,  it was Maggie Sottero Serencia,  but before I found her,  I stumbled upon this creation I believe it’s Zac Posen. I liked how it looked,  and it’s drama,  but it was so heavy and I could not walk in it.  Has there been many sales of this dress?  Is it popular with other brides?

I had an awesome experience at David’s Bridal.

Originally I had an appointment to try on Alfred Angelo dresses at a boutique because they were having a huge sale and I thought maybe they would have something within my tiny budget.  We had some time before the appointment so we asked David’s Bridal if we could look around and they said we could… they even squeezed me in for a walk-in appointment and the stylist showed me an awesome dress I fell in love with.  I still had my appointment at the other store so I popped over there and almost considered a different dress that they said was in my budget.  When I got to the counter to discusss cost though it was almost double my budget.  I was so mad.  I went straight back to David’s Bridal and bought the dress the stylist had had me try on.

I was so happy that they were able to show me dresses that were within my budget and still made me feel pretty

I know it’s irrelevant of what I’m asking but I don’t know how the David’s bridal thing works since I just bought my dress from there, first time and all.

I bought my dress online while wearing my “yes” dress in the store because I needed a size smaller. The manager I went to said, once I have the dress from the mail, come to Torrance and they’ll make alterations for me. Ummm, I’m far away and there’s a David’s bridal like 5 miles away from where I am. So it doesn’t really matter which store I go to right?

Now, If I do that, how trusting are you with seamstresses in different locations? If I go to the one in Torrance will they be a better seamstress than the one near me? Does it really matter?

davidsstylist:  on that note, are the “designer” dresses made with higher quality materials than the regular DB dresses? Some of those designer dresses are like $1,000-1,500 which is what some Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, and other major designers cost.

davidsstylist:  I was talking to David’s bridal about ordering bridesmaids dresses there, and they proceeded to inform me that Men’s Wearhouse has the exact same colors for groomsmen ties/accessories as all of their bridesmaid dresses so they’ll match perfectly!

This is not the case.  Why did they lie?? We are very anal and not sure we want to use Men’s Wearhouse now because the colors don’t exactly match the girls colors, but don’t know how to find ties that will match! Even our napkins and chair sashes match exactly!!
