So one of my GF’s scored a fabulous dress at a sample sale. She bought it too small hoping to lose weight. Well she never did and it’s now mine. I’m debating on wearing it to a wedding in a few weeks. My guy friend who is like strutting peacock is getting married. He likes bling and expensive things so I’m assuming his country club/resort wedding will be pretty extravagant. A lot of weddings I wouldn’t consider it, its very sparkly. Please note that the weather will be under 50 degrees & its a Sat night wedding. If worn I would pair it with some black tights and black booties and a black tuxedo style jacket. I feel like with the addtional things I would be toning it down a lot but part of me is still stuck on not wearing sequins to somebody’s big day. What do you guys think?
To wear or not to wear… that is the question.

Also, I’m not very tall so the dress will hit me a few inches above my knee. Also, I’m an A cup so no boobies will be falling out haha.

I think I need to see it on you, to be honest. But like you said, it depends on HOW you wear the dress. You can dress it down a lot.

No you can’t wear this. It’s too short for a country club wedding and you’ll look like a disco ball. You should wear it to the club.

Since you asked, It is very short and you will be freezing, and regardless of the wedding I think it is too much sparkle. I would find something else if I were you.
Good luck.

I voted no, I don’t think it is appropriate for a wedding at all.

Wow, just realized it was at a country club. And that I’m Canadian, and 50 degrees sounded hot as fuck to me, because I interpreted it as Celcius…hahah FAIL.
Ignore my initial post- I’d say wear something else.

I think with the styling you have in mind, it would work, especially if the tux jacket isn’t a cropped one.

I voted no because it is very short and tight. However if you wore tights etc it might be ok…

Honestly, I think it looks more like a dress for clubbing. I don’t think all-over sequins are very appropriate for someone else’s wedding. They’re just too attention-grabbing.

@nickels: i think it looks like club wear to be honest ; ( choose something not a short and elegant look on dressilyme. its way too short.

The sequins don’t bother me as much as how short it is. I’m not sure tights can salvage that.

I don’t think it’s a wedding-appropriate dress.

If it really is longer on you than the model, then sure. But wear the tights!

I’d wear it! And how you describe your full outfit it sounds super cute! If it hits you mid thigh then yeah probably too short. But it would probably hit right above the knee on me since I’m super short!
