The proposal picnic sounds lovely and it sounds like she will definitely be surprised if she reckons you’re working.

Honestly, the XOX design and Buddy engraved made me cringe so much and I thought it’d be so cheesey and awful but, then I saw the picture, and the ring is actually lovely. Most people won’t notice it’s an XOX but you can tell her why it is and that’ll be a special meaning between the two of you. Still not keen on the Buddy bit but hey…. some people may really dig it.

What will the picnic be like? I think it’d be good if it were just the two of you, but then secretly it was filmed/photographed/both by your friends. So it would be private and intimate but then all your friends would be really close by and could celebrate with you afterwards.

FWIW, as a dog person, I like the dog name, too. It’s very personal.

I have to disagree with VickyAurea. The buddy part to me is really special. All my friends and family love their pets as if they were another family member. I think it’s sweet because it shows her you love her and everything that comes with her, even if that’s a pet. That and having a pet so long, I’m sure it will be a wonderful memory once her pet passes. The ring is gorgeous. I honestly didn’t notice the XOX part until you pointed it out. I just thought it was a beautiful design. You did a great job making it a subtle part of the design!

Love the surprise picnic idea! A friend of mine proposed to his girlfriend while playing scrabble. Actually. He pretended he was getting nauseous and asked his lady to run to the grocery store to pick him up tums and crackers. She got back and he had changed the pieces on the board to spell out “Will you marry me.” She had no idea it was coming. It was amazing. They still go on about it. Pretending to go to work is pretty brilliant. So long as you do it casually. Women have amazing instincts. You’ll have to make sure you play it right so she doesn’t suspect.

Good luck!

I love the engraving – that is so sweet! I’m a huge dog lover myself, but our dogs were adopted once we already lived together. 🙂

That ring is GORGEOUS. Seriously, it is. I love that the XOX is present but not overpowering. Something sweet between the two of you.

As far as the proposal, it sounds good. The only thing that made me pause was spending the rest of the time with friends. Admittedly, we all spend our time differently, but I know we were so into just being together for the entire weekend after he proposed. It was somewhat romantic. But that wholly depends on your couple style. 🙂

That sounds spectacular! She will love it and all the adorable personal touches you added to the ring will make it that much more special!

Congratulations, and send her our way when she gets the ring!

You have put much thought into this proposal.  She will love it … and I’m sure she’ll say yes!  The ring is absolutely gorgeous!  As a pet lover, I think the engraving is very sweet.  The only negative about that is that Buddy will not always be around.  Do you think that will make her heart ache or sing when Buddy is no longer part of your family?  Just a thought…   Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
