So I’ve begun the pre-wedding diet, workout, everything. And it’s working, finally. But all I can think about is food! I. LOVE. FOOD!!!
Whenever there is a buffet, everyone comments about how much I eat (pound for pound, I can bascially eat anyone under the table but not gain “too” much weight). This pre-wedding “diet” where I am trying to eat healthier and control my portion size is dreadful. I eat salads and veggies every day, dairy, and meats but I am avoiding carbs. I work out every day but during the afternoon slump (from around 2-4) all I can think about is FOOD!
How am I ever going to lose weight?!? I hear that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Wish it were the other way around. I have no self control whatsoever. Does anyone else think about food constantly? Please tell me I am not alone…

IM RIGHT ALONG WITH YOU!!! I had an awful day… (It doesnt help that im about to start my period) If it was edible, It was going in to my mouth!!! Im so pissed at myself!!! I plan on making tomorrow a better day… 🙂 That all I can really do at this point.

I love food too. it’s hard, especially when my daughter, who’s going to be 5 in the spring, has all these little yummy snacks around, lol. I think if you’re on a diet, the main thing is to not be too strict on yourelf. let yourself have a little something or another once in a whil, because if you don’t.. when you call off, you’ll fall *hard.* and realllllly go against your diet. lol.

Yeah, I love food. I have finally come to the realization if I want to look my best on my wedding day, every single meal doesnt have to be a fantastic food fiesta. After accepting that, I have found some really yummy things to eat and snack on.
I give myself one day of the week to eat literally whatever I want, which keeps me strict the other days.

I’m in your boat, too! I am CONSTANTLY thinking about food, and I agree.. diet makes me lose weight while excercise mostly just tones me up. After I eat something, I try to go get busy doing something else right away so I don’t grab more food. OH its hard and it doesn’t always work but when it does, I usually can forget about food for a little while at least!! Also, drinking tea helps me!

I SO hear you! If dieting were about working out, I’d be fine. I’ll gladly work out every day but I am terrible at dieting. I have about 10-15 lbs to lose and only 4 months til the wedding so I really have to get serious now.

@kingytobe: I have heard that green tea does help. I love green tea and drink it hot, but I don’t think i consume enough to notice any difference. Also drinking plenty of water and cutting back on soda does wonders too…

i hear you! i think about food most of the day and it shows. lol I can control it unless I see someone else eating something bad. I know it sounds crazy but I think, if they are eating it I want to too. lol
Stressful days are hard too. I am a really bad stress eater….
Just do the best you can. 🙂 I am sure you are beautiful just as you are

I have been on the omnomnom train for the past week. I’m actually starting to feel like junk from all of the sugar and salt I’ve been eating.
Fiance is all “oh I need to lose weight, exercise with me so I’m not doing it alone”. And I’m all “sure, whatever” and then I eat 3 lbs of doughnuts.
I’m chalking this past week up to my impending visitor.

Oh I am right there with you! Everyday I tell myself I will cut back and eat better, than someone at work brings in junk and I cant walk away! I have to lose 20 pounds in 5 months so I need to get crackin as well. I think when we tell ourselves to cut back it makes us want the junk even more! Just try and take it one day at a time! @futuremrskelsey: DONT AVOID CARBS!! i am so against with regards to weight loss ever since i went to see a nutritionist. the problem is not the carbs, its how much we eat! carbs just need to be portion controlled like everything else. but you NEED them! basically i have 160 cals worth of carbs at every meal (so 3 times a day) and thats it! that just means watching which bread i buy – you CAN find bread where each slice is 70-80 cals and not 130 cals! then you can make a sandwich with it! i eat weight watcher bagels all the time (160 cals total). you get the idea. so far i have lost 15 pounds!

Anyway, I guess I should just keep drinking water, water and more water like I’m supposed to and it will quench the hunger and thoughts of food.
What I do is stare at pictures of skinny brides in the magazines and tell myself I do not want to look like someone pumped me full of air on my wedding day and that I didn’t spend 4500 on pictures to not want to look at them. That’s basically the only thing that works.
