@Stina11287: I too am a MUA and will DEFINITELY be doing my own face! Not only because it saves money but I know how I like my own makeup. I haven’t let anyone do my makeup in years. Your version looks gorgeous!! I like my makeup heavy too 😉 I go crazy with my contour, my banana powder, defined carved out brows and all that jazz haha!! Just my style 🙂 Dooo it.

I think it looks amazing! I totally understand where your coming from I certainly don’t want the natural look. I wear heavy liner on most days so why would my wedding day be any different, I want to look like me. If I walked in looking all natural my guest’s would wonder who I was. At the end of the day you have got to feel comfortable and not feel like someone else. You will make a beautiful bride.

As a fellow MUA, I can definitely appreciate the question “are you doing your own makeup?” My mom actually asked me if I could still her makeup, even though its my wedding too. LOL I said I love you, but no. I’m not doing any makeup at my own wedding. I have decided to have another makeup artist come in and do my makeup so that I can just enjoy being pampered. Did you end up doing MU yourself?

You look fantastic in your pictures!! I love that eye makeup. IMO, the natural look often doesn’t work at all for weddings. I wear makeup every day, and have done for years, but am only a makeup ‘newbie’ in terms of technique. Anyhow, I asked my MOA to do the natural look for my trial and I *hated* it. In fact, I felt really unattractive looking at the pictures. I thought that if I couldn’t look stunning with a MOA then I must not be very attractive.
Once I’d thought about it a bit more though I looked at some pics of me going out and realised that the issue was that the MOA obeyed my directions and went uber natural. So I went onto her FB page and found loads of pictures of other brides she had done. A good few had the heavy eye makeup and the truth is they photographed much better. So I contacted her and am now gonna go with heavy eyes. I am every nervous because I can’t have another trial but I like her work on her portfolio and she is obviously good at following instructions. That’s why I ended up with that look.
Most Hollywood stars, actresses, models etc. wear a lot of makeup and they look good in pictures, so I think lotsa makeup is the way to go!

I’m no make up artist, but I’m going to do my own makeup and my mom’s makeup for the day! I always do my mom’s makeup for special occaisions and I love doing it.
I love dramatic eyes for weddings, but I prefer using eyeshadow on the lower lash line instead of dark liner. I only ever use black eyeliner on the waterline and not going onto the lower lashline because I personally feel like it loose to heavy. But I have used darker eyeshadows on the lower lashline and prefer the way it looks.
