One of my best friends in the whole world just got engaged to one of my other best friends in the whole world, and I am both honored and thrilled that she asked me to be her MOH! I’m also ecstatic to get to share the experience of planning with someone I love so much. They’re thinking either an October wedding (this October) or a March wedding (next March). They’re going to keep it simple and small. My wedding is in November and I’ve got all the big stuff done and out of the way, and am handing most of the details off to my Mom and other BMs.
For those of you who were/are a heavily involved Bridesmaid or Best Man or Maid/Matron of Honor while planning your own wedding, do you have any words of advice, tips, or tricks?

Congrats! So exciting. I will be a Bridesmaid or Best Man in one of my own BM’s weddings just three weeks before my own wedding! So I know how you feel. Unfortunately I can’t offer any advice yet, but I am sure it can be done. And isn’t it so exciting to have a friend to share in planning with??? 🙂

@Gemstone: Ohhhh yes it is. Do you get the feeling like it’s just nice to not be the only one? One of the things I’m most excited about is having someone who is as excited about invitations/dresses/honeymoons, etc as I am!

Absolutely! I don’t want to talk off my friends’ ears about the weddings, but with your friend who is also getting married, you can talk wedding all you want! And you can go to wedding shows together, etc. Esp because you’re her Maid/Matron of Honor, that will be such a special experience for you two! 🙂 I was THRILLED when my Bridesmaid or Best Man called me a couple of months ago to tell me she was engaged and even more thrilled to find out later that she wanted me as Bridesmaid or Best Man too. I think it’s such a cool life-thing to share with a close friend!
