Yep, have my box of 80 Save-The-Date Cards in my car and I’m afraid to mail them. They are VP magnets simply put in an envelope with a Forever stamp. All signs point to this bieng perfectly fine but I feel like they aren’t going to reach their destination. I plan to drop them in the slot at the post office because I refuse to fight with a postal service worker over every stupid thing. Please someone tell me that it will be fine and the USPS delivers this kind of stuff all the time! I realize this sounds insane!

It will be fine! They definitely won’t reach thier destination sitting in your car! Yes, sometimes things get lost in the mail, but it happens, and even if it does, it won’t be the end of the world. Just do it! You’ll be glad you did

Just weigh them and make sure they’re under an ounce! Mine were 0.97oz – sigh of relief.

goldgoldgold: Why don’t you address one to yourself and pop it in the mail? I did this to make sure they would be sent fine and they were. I also had magnets!

It will be fine! If you’re that hesitent, bring one inside to the post office and ask them how much postage is required to mail your STD based on weight and size. I think your forever stamp will be just fine, mine were!

goldgoldgold: i was like you, but you gotta mail them! I did and it was fine. A handful didn’t reach their destination but thats the PO for ya!

I’m with weatherbug:, do a test run with one to yourself! I did this with our wedding invites because they were “on the cusp” of needing extra postage… they were fine! 🙂

Does your post office have a self serve center where you could use their equipment to weigh one out and mail to your self? That may ease your mind.

I went to a post office to weigh 1 and got the confirmation that a forever stamp is enough. then i mailed test ones out to my parents and a friend.

I know you can’t mail a magnet overseas. I tried to send a college mascot magnet from the US, to a friend in Ireland, and they wouldn’t let me send it. Other than that, you should be fine.
P.S. When my cousin’s son in law went to the P.O. to mail his StD magnets, they required an extra stamp on each, just because they were magnets. I think he was given some bad information, by his P.O., as both my daughters mailed StD magnets (one was bigger than his) and they were fine with 1 forever stamp.

goldgoldgold: what does the VP stand for in VP magnets? I have wood slice magnets under 1 ounce but was told due to thickness they are not ‘machinable’ and so they cant just be dropped in envelope with a forever stamp.
