Good morning Bees!
I woke up this morning exicted to finally post again! I’ve taken a few weeks off as I relaxed my overwhelmed mind. Scouting venues has been an extremely difficult and frustrating process for me. But, I’m back with GOOD news! We’ve found a location and I couldn’t be happier — in fact, the thought of it makes me giddy!
To make a long story short, the location we’ve decided on is one we visited WEEKS ago but never gave a chance to because of it’s size constraints (70 people). However, this entire time, I’ve been secretly lamenting our quick rejection of said location. It’s everything I’ve imagined — attractive venue, on the beach, doesn’t come with a long list of rules/requirements, and best of all, the price is a steal!
SIL and I headed up to the venue Thursday afternoon and before I even parked my car, I was squee-ing in delight exclaiming that this was our location. My mind is chock full of ideas and visions and I’m now in the process of selecting a date. Finally!
We tweaked the guest list a bit and have finally come up with a solid list of guests we plan to invite without running risk of going over our limit. In our family, we can’t rely on the “no show” rule. Nearly everyone who is invited to our family events shows up with the exception of 5 notorious no show guests.
We live in central Florida and I need to find a relatively “safe” date weather-wise. Then again, this is Florida, is there ever a safe month? LOL! If anyone has any suggestions (before I pull the last 3 years worth of weather history), please do share.
And without further delay, meet our location…the Pelican Beach Clubhouse:
I think it’s absolutely precious — so quaint and chapel-like!
This was a side shot we took from the on-site boardwalk. Squee!
A shot from the beach…I want for our guests to feel free to take walks on the beach and mingle as they please. We’re striving for a relaxing feel.
This one is self-explanatory!
This is the view from the front to the back — the Clubhouse has TONS Of windows which lets in oodles of natural light and the ocean view is to die for. Oh how I pray for no rain!
The view from the back to the front. There is an open kitchen smack dab in the middle of the Clubhouse but that’s A-OK. We’ll transform it into the food station and I doubt anyone will bat an eyelash.
This is the fabulous back deck that we’ll have the ceremony on and then transform into a dance floor and cocktail area. One of our fellow Bees has been graciously PMing me with ideas and she suggested we rent tall cocktail tables and set a few up around the perimeter of the deck. FAB idea! (You can see the little boardwalk in the far right by my car.)
And here is a link (from our slated photog’s blog) to a gorg wedding at this location that has inspired me greatly! Their ceremony was indoors but still, they captured the intimate, personal feel that we’re going for.
If you made it this far, kudos to you and THANKS! I’m heading up to the Clubhouse again this week to take more photos and gather more ideas with some friends and I’m SOOOOOOOO looking forward to it!
Thoughts, ideas, comments? All are welcome!
