Help? I don’t want to look completely stupid when I speak to my make up artist…
I am looking for natural style make up…no smokey eyes or intense colours, something classic and timeless…
Is there a specific name for this kind of look? I feel overwhelmed when I go to professionals and can’t articulate what I want! Then they suggest things and I just go along with it…and end up disappointed. I know I have to speak up but I don’t know what to say!
here are a few examples
This one is pretty much spot on
This one the lips might be a bit too red for me but its good
This one the lips are too pale but again it’s in the right sort of area

so you are after very natural. pink blush, nude lip, minimal to no eyeshadow with liquid liner across the top lash line. and drawn lightly with a brown shade under the bottom lash line with no liner on the waterline.
The best thing to do is take a photo with you when you have your trial. if your not good at saying what you want, show it.

can’t you just show them pictures and say you want a natural look.

@sera_archie: I would think it’s pretty nautral or subtle. you should take some pictures with you and just show her what you like, this way you don’t have to worry about feeling “stupid” 🙂 I don’t know many make-up terms either, I just point to what I like lol

Natural, peachy, warm with flushed cheeks. I think it’s best you take along photos, because even the best instructions are open to interpretation!

Thanks so much guys 🙂 yes absolutely taking photos!! but worry about the “so what about a -insert random makeup term-?” and I nod and look stupid…ha. At least if they’re suggesting something I can follow with something that makes sense 🙂
