So, I started tracking my chycle last month. Im not on BC because Fiance and I are waiting so I thought I would have a regular 28-30 day cycle. well… I started today. and looking forward to the future… if I stay at this cylce length (33 days) I will start my period the day before me wedding! UGH!!!!
has anybody else tracked their cycles to see if your in the clear??
Anybody know how to change a cycle length…
OR would you
A. have sex while on your period but use a condom.
B. Suck it up, and wait?

I would wait until you are married, only because you waited this long. Talk to your doctor…may be a way to stop it

wait until I’m married for what?

@lovebugfouts: I think they thought you were waiting until you’re married to have sex. Your post made it sound like that.
Anyways, your cycle can change, and most likely the closer to the wedding (ie stress) it will change. Are you totally against BC pills? If not, you can start taking them and skip the off week/placebo week to avoid a period. If you don’t want BC pills and you’re Fiance is comfortable with period sex, do it.

If you don’t want to get on BC, I would totally wait. This exact thing happened to me with my Ex-husband. Both of our first times was the wedding night. VERY unpleasant. With my Fiance now I know my body more and we have been together for over 5 years witch makes things much more comfortable, when having sex on my period.

Without taking BC, there isn’t really a way to change the day of your period. I would just wait until after it is over to have your first time, most guys aren’t comfortable with period sex in the first place so adding it to the first time probably wouldn’t be a good idea.

we ARE waiting for sex before marriage. I meant my period would start day before… meaning bloody wedding day and into the honeymoon. =( I wont take BC because we decided to start ttc right away and thought someone might have an idea. so thank you ladies for your posts! =D and sorry for the confusion.
Perhaps, after the wedding I will just do a very good clean and then straigh to sex! hahaha
I will be starting a cleanse soon. I have heard this might change the cycle. anybody have this experience?

@lovebugfouts: If you do have it on the wedding day, clean up before sex and go for it. If you have lighter periods, you probably won’t notice much at all. You could just put a towel down underneath the two of you.

@lovebugfouts: in times of extreme exercise or low caloric intake, my period DOES change a lot. it usually has more days in between periods, so maybe that will change your cycle. personally, i wouldn’t want the first time i had sex with someone to be while i was on my period, so i’d probably just wait… sucks though. 🙁

@lovebugfouts: do it on your period…towels are your friend 🙂 or the shower (later in the honeymoon of course) first time should be in the bed 🙂

Not to complicate things but just out of curiosity, has stress ever affected your period in the past? I know before I went on BC that if I was stressed about something I would either barely get my period or skip it entirely. What with wedding craziness and all, is it possible that the same would happen to you?

I admit I’ve never tried having sex on my period but my gyno was able to help me figure out how to use BC to prevent this happening on my wedding. It worked for me but I am a big fan of oral BC pills. They do wonders for my unballanced hormones.

We have both been married before, so we know HOW to have sex. lol @totheislnds your shower comment made me giggle.
thank you ladies… and hey! maybe stressing over the wedding I wont get it then. =D lol bad thing to hope for I guess. haha

The stress of the wedding totally screwed me up. We were waiting too which meant having a period on the wedding/honeymoon would be even worse. Mine started a couple weeks before the weeding so I was so happy to be in the clear except it didn’t stop…. until the day before the wedding. My period never lasts longer than a few days so I was like YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! Thank god it ended just in time. But by August your period might be on a whole different schedule and may not screw you up..

Check out Instead soft cups. They fit over your cervix like a diaphragm but are meant to catch menstrual flow (not as a form of birth control).
