What are you all serving at your weddings?
What are you all serving at your weddings?
There you go. These were the first two plates that we served in our wedding. After these we served steak and a wedding cake 🙂
Dinner will be sit down service starting with a salad, hot rolls and then a 2 protein meal of beef tenderloin medallions with red wine demi glaze and chicken with pineapple sauce, herb roasted new potatoes, broccoli lemon zested with brown butter. ( a Vegan plate is planned for those who so choose)
We opted for a plated desert over a wedding cake – but this is not a first wedding for either of us. Cheese cake combined wth a lemon … something or other…LOL!
Okay – now I AM HUNGRY… and my dress is skin tight – so I am not allowed to eat until the wedding…LOL

Pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, individual cereal boxes, muffins, danishes, bagels, breakfast potatoes, sliced fruit w/ yogurt drip.
Donuts for dessert.
We are having ours at a pub and doing roaming cocktail food (8-10 pieces per person) which consist of aranchini balls, sausage rolls, calamari etc. For a couple of hours followed by pizza. We have paid for 20 pizzas up front then will order more as they empty. The pizzas are really nice gourmet type ones.
Cupcakes are for dessert.
We didn’t want to do a traditional sit down meal as we wanted more of a pub night vibe.
We did a holiday menu for our late November wedding:
We had appetizers too, but I can’t remember what we ordered and they were gone before we got to them!
We also did build-your-own poutine and pizza for our late night snack.
Oh man…we had a TON of food.
For passed appetizers..mini quiche tarts, mini egg rolls, grilled sausage, smoked salmon canapes, tomato and bocconcini skewers, cheese and grape skewers, vegetable samosas and sushi.
For the plated dinner, everyone had the same meal and it consisted of cucumber wrapped salad and a mixed seafood platter followed by the intermezzo di limone…a sherbet to cleanse the palate.
The second course was two types of pasta…one with red sauce, one with white.
The entree was chateaubriand and chicken supreme with grilled asparagus, peppers and duchese potatoes.
Dessert was mangia cake scurro…Sicilian ice cream cake with mixed fruit.
We also had a late night dessert station with specialty coffees, our wedding cake, an assortment of pastries, pies and even more cakes and fresh fruit. The other late night station was sliders and poutine.
As for drinks, there was mixed martinis upon arrival, top shelf open bar from 5pm-1am, red and white wines on the tables as well as bottles of Dom Perigon on each table for toasting.
We just confirmed our caterer yesterday! Our menu isn’t finalized but we are thinking smoked meats, seared ahi tuna, two salads (one will probably be a pasta salad and the other a green salad), roasted or smashed potatoes and a vegetable dish of some sort. I’m so excited!!
Cake and cookies!!!! We’ll also fruit salad since Fi and I don’t do added sugars.
Plus barbeque chicken, brisket, green beans, mashed potatoes, Cole slaw, salad, and cornbread. Pretty much only th salad is vegan friendly, but none of our close friends or family are vegan, I think I do have a friend who is, but she isn’t a close friend and she may not RSVP. Hmmm, we also considered a taco bar and brush buffet on the way to deciding on barbeque. All are awesome and delicious choices, we just found a good cheap caterer for the barbeque.
