I just changed my wedding date from January to March (only 6 weeks).  It does seem like a long time but I know it’ll be better to wait for many reasons, including money.  Our whole engagement will have been 22 months by the time we get married with being together for 5 years and 2 months.  It seems like forever but once it starts to get closer it’ll fly by when deadlines start approaching!

Welcome to the Hive Laughing

I understand that you’re bummed but please please please don’t be. I am marrying in October and by then our engagement will be 11 mths.  NO JOKE it goes by so so fast.  Gather inspiration now and in 5 months you will have changed your mind on some things…Its totally crazy.  If FH and I were a couple of years younger I would want a 1.5 yr engagement, seriously!!!  Chin up girl – – Time flies, promise Wink

Fiance and I wanted to marry in March, but church conflicts pushed it out to May 14 AND we had to change venues so all the matching decorations became useless. So, I can relate. But, extra time means more time to plan which means less stress. And, you can spend more time taking about important things (if people spent as much time planning their MARRIAGE as they do their wedding there would be less divorces!)… Also, more time to save $. Lots of plusses to a longer engagement.

Our wedding is in 12 days and we have been engaged for a 1.5 years. It has actually been really nice because we have had plenty of time for everything and nothing has been rushed. We decided to wait because we wanted my Fiance to finish his 1st year of podiatry school which is like medical school in terms of studying and demand. It goes by a lot faster than you realize!!

@Statutory Grape: Woohoo! You are the second person I’ve found on here that is a date twin. I’m so glad to find others that are picking the same date! I’m also glad that we reserved our place early like we figured we should have.

We have a 2.5 year engagement.  It is not fun, and it is not going fast, lol.

Fiance and I got engaged in March and our date is Sept 2011.  It seems like it’s FOR-EV-ER from now! haha but looking back and realizing that we have already been engaged for over 5 months makes time seem like it’s flying.

No worries, it’ll be here before you know it! But i’m with you, i just cannot wait!!!!! enjoy this time because once it gets here it’ll be gone before you know it!

@SweetRose2011: Right? I was scared when we had to switch venues due to budget that we wouldn’t be able to get our date!

@SweetRose2011: Tons, actually. E-pics were done in early July, I just finished our save-the-dates, have flowers picked out (mostly), our venue’s booked, I picked a tentative bridesmaid dress (I say “tentative” because it might get discontinued before it’s time to order 🙁 ) and we’ve decided on our caterer, lol. You?

@Statutory Grape: Wow you are way ahead of me and I though I got a lot done. We booked the ceremony /reception site. Got his wedding ring and mine. Picked out our first song dance. I found my dress and his. I need to buy my dress though. I picked the colors and a think maybe the bridesmaid dresses. I know I love love these : http://www.etsy.com/listing/51305526/girlybox-its-party-time-dressup6 but I’m worried about it working with the bridesmaid prices and my Fiance liking them.

Question: when should I get the Save-The-Date Cards sent out by? I have pretty much all the guests coming from out of town.
